Day 9 - Sunday Service and Concert. It's Sunday today, so off we went to two different churches. The one I went to - Sapa Christian Church, was about 1 minute walk from where we were staying. The other church in Capipisa was. An hour away by public transport. At the Sapa church, guess what we sang? We sang Hillsongs. You just can't get away from Hillsongs! Day 11 - Kids Ministry and Home Visits. It's nearing the end of the trip and many of us are tired and sick. But we can't say no to the kids, so we got up early to do some kids ministry. This is some of the team singing 'My God' which is a redone version of the old hit 'My Girl'. I think that morning was probably one of the worst puppet shows I've ever done. I was like a zombie. We also did face painting, balloon sculpting and outdoor games. We spent the night resting for the medical clinic the next day.

Day 4 - Concert. This morning we went to play basketball with some of the locals. Basketball is the most popular sport over there, probably because you don't need a lot of open space to play it and there are 18 million people in metro Manila alone. You can see that this is a whole different world from the neighbourhood we were staying in only a couple of minutes walk away. And yes, we did get smashed in basketball. Day 8 - Rest Day. For a 'rest day' we didn't really get much rest. We woke up at 4.30 am, or more accurately, we were woken up at 4.30am by the crazy neighbouring dogs and roosters to leave for a town outside Manila. Traffic in Manila is really bad and apparently if you don't leave before 5.00am you get caught in a jam. Maybe i'm just easy to please when it comes to food). Mmmm cheap fried chicken.
