The ramblings of just another volunteer. Sunday, 23 August 2015. Bournemouth Air Festival - Day 4. The Red Arrows had their best day of the festival, being much tighter. Such a pity that this was a bomber aircraft! If they bring a Concorde back into the air, will it be a more admirable icon? The MiG 15 and a different Typhoon, painted in Battle of Britain camouflage and squadron letters; an army parachutist and Iron Duke firing blanks over the police launch as it sails away. The slopes were full of Chalk Hill Blue butterflies, and Silver-Spotted Skippers, of which I glimpsed one. Today was another adventure into the macro-world and time to experiment with a new Speedlite 270EX II set on manual in order to obtain 250 shutter speed. The External Speedlite control needed to be set in the menu on flash function setting to Hi.
