Phil's Random Musings: A dubious celebration
http://philsrandommusings.blogspot.com/2011/03/dubious-celebration.html
Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Sunday, 20 March 2011. Anyone who's keeping an eye on the news or is alive/conscious in any way will be aware of the UN's air operations over Libya. This morning the RAF were giddy over their 3000 mile round trip bombing run over Libya, however, I can't help but feel that their celebration is just the teensiest bit absurd. Will the absurdity of the current operation move the ConDem party to reconsider the ill conceived SDSR? 22 March 2011 at 11:13.
Phil's Random Musings: June 2011

Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Thursday, 2 June 2011. My interview with Dan 'The Master' Abnett. Part two of my interview with Dan Abnett went live on Boomtron.com. About 5 hours ago and I wanted to post a link here for anyone who wanted to stop by and have a listen. We had a conversation over Skype which I recorded and it runs to just over one and a half hours. Thanks Dan, that was a blast. I hope we can talk again soon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
Phil's Random Musings: Games Day 2011
http://philsrandommusings.blogspot.com/2011/09/games-day-2011.html
Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Monday, 26 September 2011. So, here I sit at the keyboard absolutely knackered after UK Games Day 2011. Part of the exhaustion was due to my decision to drive there with a couple of friends rather than take the shop coach and face the awful traffic after a long day. Overall I had a great day and had the opportunity to chat with many of the authors including three I'd never had the chance to speak to in person. Sarah Cawkwell. My abiding impression of...
Phil's Random Musings: October 2010

Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Sunday, 10 October 2010. Primary Instinct by Sarah Cawkwell - review. I mentioned in my last post that I would write a review of newcomer Sarah Cawkwell's debut story in Hammer and Bolter when I was done reading it. Well, I've just finished the story, so here's the review. I really loved this story. Despite the very early awkwardness Cawkwell has, for me, really established her bona fides as a talented 40k storyteller. Labels: Hammer and Bolter.

Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Thursday, 26 May 2011. A letter to my MP. Below is a letter I've sent to my MP, Mike Freer. I've wanted to write it for a while and I think the anger contained within is, in part, inspired by having held on to it for a while. I will of course post his response if and when I get one. Dear Mr Freer,. I voted for you based upon the belief that the Conservative party were returning to their founding ideals, a minimalist government focussed upon the freed...

Miss Blue’s Views. In defence of the souless commuter. Or why I wouldn't have stopped to listen to Joshua Bell play in the subway.. Recently, a friend of mine reposted one of those Facebook/email stories. Stories about violin virtuoso Joshua Bell busking in the New York subway and how all but two people and a few small children ignored him. It was paraphrasing an article called ' Pearls Before Breakfast. Life out of balance'), an 80s film illustrating our descent into robotic antdoom, becoming cogs in t...

Miss Blue’s Views. Saving the planet one energy company at a time - kinda. A major energy company has offices in the building where I work. This energy company are currently promoting a 'green' campaign and have filled the lobby with banners, bunting and energy-friendly paraphernalia like cardboard trees telling us in bright bold lettering how we can help save the planet by taking alternative modes of transport to get to work, re-using plastic bags and switching off lights and computers. Miss Blue’s Views. My failure at fandom. I've been a fangirl for more than two thirds of my life. It started in 1985, when I first heard about a Norwegian pop group called a-ha. Who I still follow today (and have tickets for their last-ever *sniff* UK concert in November this year). I bought all their album. One of the things I was got wrong was that I never. The book signing was for Joe Hill's. And as I've outlined in a previous post. I had a fairly triumphant experience discovering this particular auth...

Miss Blue’s Views. The weight of preventing boredom. This morning I dug through several cupboards to find the Kensington lock to secure the laptop to a mooring hook in the boot of the car and decided the purchase of a lock box for the boot might be worthwhile. Is it worth it? I ask myself. I honestly don't know. Would I have taken the photos and uploaded them to Facebook TODAY had I not had the means to? My chap has also posted a photo from inside the hall with his iPhone and I've commented with *waves*,...

Sunday, 9 January 2011. Tom Lenk – Nerdgasm. Soho Theatre, London, Friday 7 January 2011. If you know nothing about Tom, here’s his Wikipedia page. For you to go ‘oh yeah, I kinda remember him’ or ‘nope, still don’t know him’, in which case, you’ll just have to trust me. So, what’s in a one man show by the guy that had a side role in one of the biggest hit shows in American TV? Lenk spent a season in the Broadway cast of Rock of Ages. With continuing appearances in major Hollywood films, Tom Lenk could w...

The adventure I find myself in / das Abenteuer in dem ich mich finde. Goal setting for the new year and beyond. 3 January, 2014. The new year has started and it is time to set some goals to get the seven and three energy flowing. Seven for the planing and Three for the getting it done. The Tumultuous Life of a Boy and his Quest through this Crazy thing we call Living. Have you ever looked at someone and thought, " I wish I knew what was going on in their head" or " I wonder what their view of the world is" I know i have plenty of times. So I have decided to create just that! Thursday, April 5, 2012. The World Spins Madly On. I feel like Life itself is a work of art in progress. Blogging about anything that interests or inspires me. Sunday, 15 April 2012. It has been a while. A long while. If there's anyone left who reads this blog, I appreciate your patience. The title of this post and the name of the blog are much the same because, with much on my mind, I thought it might be an idea to just talk it all out right here and if it happens to grab someone's interest into the bargain then great.
