Differentiated Instruction-Meeting Students' Needs: October 2012
http://phisdi.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Differentiated Instruction-Meeting Students' Needs. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. In computer classes we have been writing creatively about the season when pumpkins are harvested. Students have imagined what it would be like to be a pumpkin. They described being picked, carved into a Jack-O-Lantern and all the sights they saw on Halloween night. November is still the harvest time so we will be continuing and building on what we did with the pumpkin stories. Posted by B. Bornaman. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://phisdi.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Differentiated Instruction-Meeting Students' Needs. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Intro and Ch. 1. I am really excited to be reading this book because I definitely need some help in the area of DI! Reading the Intro and Ch. 1 was more like a review of the things we have already heard over the past couple of years, but I did like the way the author stated what DI is and what it isn't. I believe that most of us differentiate our lessons on one level or another, but to truly. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Intermediate Interventions (RTI): Chapter 5 - Learning CPR
http://phisrti.blogspot.com/2010/12/chapter-5-learning-cpr.html
Monday, December 13, 2010. Chapter 5 - Learning CPR. When I was working at my previous job I had to take First Aid/CPR every 2 years. I noticed that within the amount of time I was at this job it changed and the requirements/expectations changed. The change I appreciated the most is getting rid of the mouth to mouth! Never the less, change is a good thing and we are in the midst of change. A change in the approach, manner, and ways of getting information to students to ensure learning it taking place.

Sunday, March 13, 2011. Chapter 9 and 10. Chp 9-The Role of Behavioral Interventions. Frank Gresham (2004) described four components of behavioral interventions in RTI.1.Academic and behavioral interventions are based upon the severity of the problem. With the 3-tiered approach, at each subsequent tier, fewer students with more intense problems receive increasingly intensive levels of time and support. 4 Social validation is the final component of implementing behavioral interventions through RTI-assess ...

Intermediate Interventions (RTI): Chapter 7 Tier 2 & Chapter 8 Tier 3
http://phisrti.blogspot.com/2011/02/chapter-7-tier-2-chapter-8-tier-3.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. Chapter 7 Tier 2 and Chapter 8 Tier 3. Chapter 7 Tier 2: The Supplemental Level. It is impossible for differentiated core instructions alone to meet the needs of every child. Therefore, a learning-centered school will systematically identify students in need of additional time and support and provide targeted interventions. Tier 2 is considered supplemental to the school’s core curriculum. They require different interventions. Goal-Setting and Career Planning Support – The...

Intermediate Interventions (RTI): Preface and Chapter 1
http://phisrti.blogspot.com/2010/09/preface-and-chapter-1.html
Monday, September 20, 2010. Preface and Chapter 1. Doesn't it make you feel good when you are reading about something positive and you are doing that in your classroom or in the building? That is the way I felt reading this book. I think that we have come a long way in our building with the new RTI. Model Since our building was started, I think that we have been taking the steps towards this direction and I am very excited about the changes. All go hand in hand. In Chapter one, the definition of insanity...
