Sunday, March 05, 2006. The Tapestry (Chapter 8). November 25, 2005. Dawned bright and very cold. It had warmed up from the day before; it was now only 2 degrees with the wind chill. The plan for the day was simple. Meet the midwife at 11, and then we would go over to Brian and Julie’s house and spend the rest of the day with them. We were looking forward to that part since we hadn’t seen them since the summer. Jen had been having contractions off and on all Thanksgiving day, but they were nothing much.

Tuesday, March 07, 2006. The Tapestry (Chapter 9). What started out as a relaxing trip to meet and choose a midwife ended up in the NICU of a Children’s Hospital. It took about a week for them to tentatively diagnose what was wrong with our daughter who we named Anarazell Joy. For some reason her brain didn’t fully form when she was in the womb. They had a fancy name for her condition called: ponto cerebellar hypoplasia. Pretty much means that different parts of her brain were too small.
