The letter was written in Spanish, and I have not gotten around to google-translating it yet, but it had to do with travel arrangements via ship, and making sure that all of the necessary paperwork had been taken care of. The very first digital camera that I ever owned, which I had purchased only a few months earlier, has actually survived the fire! I had purchased this camera just after Thanksgiving, immediately prior to the final leg of our Fall 2004 tour, and now I'm so glad that I had not yet downloaded any of the pictures, because it meant that they weren’t trapped forever inside my melted laptop. In the Jardines del Turia with some of the towers from the old town section in the background. Interesting trunks on these trees. I'm probably not the only one who finds this amusing. 65279;. This is the Torres de Serranos, an ancient fortress on the north end of the old town area, near the Jardines del Turia. These flowers were EVERYWHERE!

At least now I can look forward to things definitely becoming better. During the spring tour my husband was captured by aliens. That is a metaphor for the social climate that existed for us on tour this year. We did get a good set of house plans designed, but it was definitely a struggle to accomplish this while on the road. Day #1 in Medellin. February 24, 2015. Fernando Botero seems to be it when it comes to Colombian art. His work is everywhere. This morning we started out at Plaza Botero, which has a bunch of huge statues like this one. They all bring a smile to one's face because they just seem so large and lovable. On the Botero Plaza is the Museum of Antioquia, which is dominated by works of Botero but also contains a lot of other works of art. Like the ones above and below. The special exhibit was Botero's Circus.

March 4, 2015. Our cabin was constructed in the traditional style with a thatched roof. We did have an indoor bathroom, but no electricity. We had a solar-powered lantern in our room that allowed us to see how to get in and out of bed at night. We had mosquito netting over our beds.
