Notes From The Basement. David Dunn and A is A Piano Service. Wednesday, October 21, 2009. I have both the time and the inclination to write a few random thoughts:. 2) Every winter is harder for me to approach. This year, we have had a very sudden transition, coupled with the fact that summer wasn't that warm to begin with. I'm feeling depressed and I know that temperature and shortened days have a major role. Moving south is looking more and more attractive. Monday, October 5, 2009. A is A Piano Service.

Notes From The Basement. David Dunn and A is A Piano Service. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. I woke up in my apartment in Pittsfield, MA, headed in to Lenox for my first pre-work coffee, and then drove to the Tanglewood grounds for the first time to meet with the rest of the summer 09 piano tech team. Notes From The Basement: Another reason to strive for excellence, or, How does ECM do that?
http://aisapiano-nftb.blogspot.com/2010/07/another-reason-to-strive-for-excellence.html
Notes From The Basement. David Dunn and A is A Piano Service. Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Another reason to strive for excellence, or, How does ECM do that? Where are they placed? What type of post-production trickery is used to get the best possible sound? The reverb used is significant, but there was something more than that. A spectacular instrument? More than likely, but how then to explain the sound being consistent over a period of years, and across oceans to different recording studios? You have to ...

Notes From The Basement. David Dunn and A is A Piano Service. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. I'm glad there is - V. And in particular, "Bohemian Rhapsody". A recording completely of its time, yet still timeless. Home again, home again, jiggity jig. I saw the photo this morning of the assault-weapon-wielding protester at the Obama rally, and it made me shake my head. Can anyone truly see this as reasonable? Friday, August 14, 2009. Notes from the Berkshires, Day 75. Bernstein Pavilion, 8.50 am. 8226; Armageddo...

I'm also continuing my baby steps towards becoming familiar with the Chapman Stick, an amazingly cool instrument I acquired about a year and a half ago. I've no idea where that will fit in, but it's fun to mess around with. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Once and Future Performing Musician. Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States.
