While I try to think more realistically about connecting with someone, I still have to keep myself from becoming entirely heartless about it. There is value in those bonds and knowing that is what has made me so upset about not having them. So I keep myself from getting my hopes up and I try not to do anymore chasing or get involved. Being without romance may not have been ideal but that doesn't mean I don't live a good life. I know it is a bit of a downer that people break hearts. However, I guess there is the whole "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" explanation for why I can see this as not so bad. Is there really any behavior that is in no way selfish?
