Bulb update | Ahoy!
https://pickledbeets.wordpress.com/2012/02/07/bulb-update
Photo: Ladybug on my lily plant. February 7, 2012. Posted by Lindsay under Garden. The paperwhite has fully bloomed! It smells like spring. When I sit on the couch a few feet away I catch little whiffs of it. Also, I thought the hyacinth was a goner, but I shouldn’t have doubted it. It just took a little more time to get going. It’s begun to slowly open its leaves, and I am eager to see what flowers will eventually result. One Response to “Bulb update”. February 8, 2012 at 10:24 am. From your own site.

https://pickledbeets.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/hawaiian-fruit-part-1
Photo: Ladybug on my lily plant. April 1, 2012. Hawaiian fruit, part 1. Posted by Lindsay under Food. I took pictures of most of the fruits we ate in Hawaii. Here is the first batch of them! Papayas were everywhere, and very cheap (5 or 7 for $2). They also seemed to grow in everybody’s yard. I don’t think I’d ever had a papaya before, and these were very delicious. You cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, and eat it with a spoon! This guy was delicious. So tart and sweet. A soursop, or a guanában...

Photo: Ladybug on my lily plant. January 24, 2012. Posted by Lindsay under Uncategorized. For a magical day or two, Seattle was a wintry paradise. Monday, February 25, 2013. France, Day 10, 8/31/2012. We have a busy day. We go to a laundromat, where the proprietor, who happens to be there painting the walls, gives us directions in English. (And we needed them, too! A stream in Quimper. After another stroll around the old town, we go to the Breton museum and see art, artifacts, clothes, and furniture from Brittany, from prehistoric times to the 1920s. We stop at a bar with lots of Breton beers, and we both get little, 1/4-liter glasses. For the firs...

Tuesday, October 16, 2012. France, Day 7, 8/28/2012. After breakfast we hike to Saint-Malo, arriving by 12:15. This hike is muddy in spots, but very pretty. Parts of it look like they'd be impassible at high tide, but the timing works out for us and we don't need to wait. On the way to Saint-Malo. For lunch, we go to a nice restaurant near our hotel called le Bacchus. It would be decorated like a barn or have exposed brick walls or something. Then we go to the beach! With dill. We are both given an a...

Friday, January 18, 2013. France, Day 8, 8/29/2012. After some Reine Claude plums and coffee at our local bar, which we've become very fond of, we go see the old town of Saint-Malo. We end up for lunch at a fast food crêperie called Breizh Food. I get a galette with egg and country ham, and Lindsay gets one with poitrine (smoked pork belly? And cheese. Both are good, though the crêpes don't have that fermented tang that we've come to expect. The French seem to just like frying things in wrappers (see the...

We laughed and loved and struggled together and it made all the difference. And now. Now you're here for me to say good-bye. Thank you for everything. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. I have a...
