Real People Living Locally. Crazy? The Who's Who List. Here's a list of the producers/businesses and consumers followed in my blog, as well as contact information and links to the initial profiles, where they exist. Copper Penny Farm - Chuck and Nancy Gardetto - you'd never guess this farm is just off Rt. 295 near Jessup. They've got pasture-raised pigs, turkeys, and a range of other animals. De La Tierra Gardens. Jackie - a soft-spoken leader instrumental in the success of the Westminster Farmer's Market.

The Dahlem Dish: July 2013
http://colleenandjimdahlem.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 8, 2013. Lately we've been going to Larriland Farm. To pick our own fruit and veggies. It is in Woodbine MD about 45 minutes from our house. They use integrated pest management instead of pesticides. Essentially it is organic farming but they haven't gone through the formal certification process. We've picked blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and beets there! Here is Avery helping out picking berries, she LOVES doing it! This carton of raspberries is so heavy! Sunday, July 7, 2013.

The Casual Diva: August 2014
http://thecasualdiva.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 25, 2014. I was all prepared to give you MORE jam recipes, since I jammed and made pie filling out of the 1/2 bushel of peaches I picked last weekend, but I didn't want to bore anyone, so I thought I'd mix it up a bit. After much searching through stores and coming up with bupkiss, I finally caved and decided to make my own face masks. And oh, I'm so glad I did! This mask leaves my skin feeling smooth as butter and twice as enervated! The avocado is full of those wonderful anti-oxidants th...

» Goals | Apple Dulce de Leche taming the tart
http://www.tamingthetart.com/2011/apple-dulce-de-leche
For the nutritiously indulgent. Goals Apple Dulce de Leche. I’m not much of a formal goal-setter. I’m usually too fickle and impulsive. But I set a few goals that I want to accomplish before the end of the year. Nothing too serious. One involves beer, the other wine, and the third I accomplished last weekend when Mike and I went apple picking at Larriland Farm. The apples are perfect just as they are. But I promised Mike a pie and made good with this free-form tart. Angel food, or pound cake. Whisk the s...

Meet Me Outdoors: A Day Outside: Berry Picking, Orioles Game AND Concert in the Park!
http://meetmeoutdoors.blogspot.com/2013/07/a-day-outside-berry-picking-orioles.html
It is time to leave the indoor life and go explore the outdoors. Let's have an adventure. Monday, July 15, 2013. A Day Outside: Berry Picking, Orioles Game AND Concert in the Park! Today started early with a trip to Larriland Farms. Right behind home plate! Panorama view from my seat. Even a dragonfly wanted to watch the game (it's on the wire). Today's musician was Ellen Cherry. The concerts are held outside on the eastern lawn of the Patterson Park Pagoda. Bring a lawn chair, picnic blanket, kids, ...

Other Blogs I Like. Try it, you might like it! Archive for the tag “food”. Die Uppity Cooking Terms! 6 and a half to be exact. But please add to them! This is just butter with stuff in it rechilled into butter consistency. 8211; slicing veggies or whatever in slim matchstick like pieces… I’m sure french chefs will say this is a poor explanation, but it’s just about right. That liquid at the bottom of the pan? Spoon it up on the meat, done. No need for a baster or brush etc. Use a damn teaspoon. This is j...

Live Laugh Snap: October 2012
http://livelaughsnap.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Fall in the Country. I totally crashed a guys trip last weekend, packed up the poodle and tagged along with the fiancé to visit our good friend Andy in Baltimore. We started the trip at a ridiculous BYOB sushi joint in Fells Point called Asahi Sushi. We woke up the next morning, after a lot of sake, and drove about 20 miles outside of the city to the beautiful country. Fall looks completely different in the country - the colors are brilliant! Thursday, October 18, 2012. In Will...

The Flying Quiche: October 2011
http://theflyingquiche.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. Do you know what's awesome? Halloween. Even in the snow, even when you don't have time to make those cookies you've been planning all month until you're actually in NY, even when those "one size fits all" orange knit tights don't quite fit, even when you have to bully a boyfriend and subsequently his brother into dressing up and donning some makeup, even when people keep guessing that you're a pumpkin. But especially when Halloween involves 1 scary movie per day. In a large bowl...
