Short term trading and other adventures in patience and discipline. October 8, 2011. NASDAQ: BIDU trade post mortem. I made a mistake in my trading today, and wanted to talk about it here. As mentioned this morning. I went long NASDAQ: BIDU in hopes of a swing trade. Ideally, here’s how I think my trade should have been executed:. 1) Long BIDU 117.4 (green arrow). 2) Sell 1/4 BIDU @118. 3) Buy 1/4 BIDU 116. 4) Sell 1/4 BIDU 119, raise stop to 115 (blue arrow). 5) Sell 1/4 BIDU 120.8, raise stop to b/e.

C) Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) reported earnings above expectations, and was widely expected to gap up. On that event alone I was expecting the majority of stocks in QQQ, Baidu included to act strong on the open. At the time I ...

Short term trading and other adventures in patience and discipline. How NOT To Raise A Generation of Android Users. October 15, 2011. So, Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) killed it this week, reporting earnings that were way above any analyst expectations. Larry Page must feel smugly good about his short time as the king of the next generation money making castle. Well, Mr. Page, I am here to tell you that the deep moat that you think you have may turn out to be more shallow than you think. 2) Next train evangelists.

Short term trading and other adventures in patience and discipline. October 18, 2011. Despite having a trading plan for Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU), I sold and exited my position for the following reasons:. 8211; market context: Trend day to mark the first day of a sell off / pullback. 8211; Baidu gapped down and could not recover above yesterday’s open. 8211; inability to reach 139, or even Friday’s hi. 8211; Baidu is overbought on the daily chart. I will look to buy back between the gap fill (133) and 131.
