The diary of a 21st century Mummy: Anger & Guilt
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/04/anger-guilt.html
Thursday, 12 April 2012. Cut to delivery room. After Noah's birth, the midwives had to go and help out with an emergency situation, so Noah, myself and Tim were left alone for almost an hour in the delivery room. If she saw that I was trying to breastfeed, why didn't she ask if I had changed my mind? Why didn't she say she would help me if I wanted to try at least? She fetched me a bottle of formula and that was that. 10 days post birth, my hormones went in to overdrive. I wanted. She assured me it was p...

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: Flashback Friday: my favourite place
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/08/flashback-friday-my-favourite-place.html
Friday, 10 August 2012. Flashback Friday: my favourite place. The only place where I can truly switch off and relax. The mountains are so cathartic for me. Before the kids came along, my year was centred around the two trips I got to make to the mountains with my snowboard. I love everything about it; the cold first thing in the morning, the crunch of the snow under foot and board, the totally exhilarating feeling of floating over fresh powder. Friday, August 10, 2012. Thank you for linking up. I have on...

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: 20 facts about me
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/05/20-facts-about-me.html
Wednesday, 2 May 2012. 20 facts about me. 1 I'm right handed. 2 I was vegetarian for 4 years in my mid 20's. 3 I still love watching "Neighbours". 4 I suffer from Trypanophobia {the extreme fear of medical procedures involving injections or hypodermic needles}. 5 If I could marry any celebrity it would be Peter Facinelli. 6 I have never tried a cigarette or any illegal substance. 7 I am a total Cadbury addict. 8 If I could live anywhere it would be America. 9 My favourite season is winter. I never had de...

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: My favourite quote
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/05/my-favourite-quote.html
Thursday, 3 May 2012. I can't pick an all time favourite quote so I am going to cheat a little bit and go for two. The first one isn't a quote so much as some lyrics from a song from one of my favourite bands; The parlotones. The song is called "Window Shopper", and it kind of sums up how I'm feeling about my life lately. You bury your dreams deep inside. It's up to you to breathe in life. The chemicals of goosebumps. The chemicals of butterflies in stomachs. It's up to you to realise. I had 2 quotes too!

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: Mummy vs anti breastfeeding Dr
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/03/mummy-vs-anti-breastfeeding-dr.html
Thursday, 29 March 2012. Mummy vs anti breastfeeding Dr. This post is part of the Breastfeeding blog hop. Hosted by The Slacker Mom. And The Gnomes Mom. This week someone must have been picking up my vibes I was sending out in to the blogosphere for this week's hop to be about supply issues. Thankfully Erin was hearing me and this weeks topic is low supply. On Monday I walked in to town and brought some Fenugreek, as I had read that helps with supply. The tablets were huge! Mum was telling me he needed t...

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: "Don't you want a girl?"
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/11/you-want-girl.html
Sunday, 11 November 2012. Dont you want a girl? Long answer: I used to. I honestly thought Noah was a girl. We had decided she would be called Isabelle. Or Bella. {Before the days of Twilight, I hasten to add} At 20 weeks we found out Isabelle was actually a boy. The shock took about 24 hours to wear off. My initial "a BOY? Although I knew the biology behind how these things work, I felt it unfair. Hideous, I don't think Tim would cope if he had to deal with another set of female hormones added to mine;).

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: Who am I?
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/2012/08/who-am-i.html
Tuesday, 14 August 2012. Mummy, wife, sister, friend, daughter, Aly. Funny how Aly comes at the end of that list. I remember when I was pregnant with Noah, at one of my yoga classes the teacher asked us what scared us the most about becoming parents. Lots of ladies said "lack of sleep" {ha! She was right. It is amazing. Even on the hardest days when I think to myself "why did I choose this? Even on the days where the 3 year old reduces me to tears, it is a wonderful thing, to be someone's Mummy. Being at...

The diary of a 21st century Mummy: About
http://noahsmummy-thediaryofaworkingmummy.blogspot.com/p/about_22.html
I'm Aly, I am 36 and struggling to accept that I am only 4 years away from 40! In my other life I'm a primary school teacher. But this is my real life. Married to Tim for 8 years, together for 17. We live in the UK in the Midlands. We have Noah who is 3 1/2, obsessed by Cars the movie, Peppa Pig, Milk, bouncing and going to Disneyland. He does not sleep well! Thanks for stopping by. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What I'm talking about. What are you looking for? I love you to the moon and back.
