Sports Photography from the grandstands. Sports Photography is a tough business to break into. Wouldn't it be great to have your own designated shooting spot in the end zone of a major CFL game! Many individuals work their way into these positions. And from the images I've seen, they really deserve recognition for the time and effort they put into each event. I hope to one day be afford an opportunity to shoot one game from such a vantage point. Until then, it's the cheap seats for me.

Toronto Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon. On a cold Oct. 19th morning my daughter and I set out to the big smoke to capture a few images (below) of the Toronto Scotiabank Marathon. We parked by Ryerson University, walked through the Eaton's centre and ended up right by the finish line. There were literally thousands of runners and thousands of people cheering them on. It was an awesome site to behold. I used my 6D with my Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 lens for these images.

Oct 18th, 2014. Toronto Argonauts vs. Montreal Alouettes. You don't need a media pass or front row seating to engage in the exciting, dynamic and assorted realm of sports photography. All you need is a strong desire and tickets to a sporting event (that allows you to bring your gear and take pictures! My daughter and I had a blast. Thanks to everyone who were involved to make our first Football game a terrific experience.

We're nearing the end of the season for Marathons here in the GTA. I did manage to get a few photos this year of the Scotiabank Toronto Marathon though. Ah, the good old hockey game. I'll be getting OHL photos of the teams as allowed by the venues that host the games. So far it's been a challenge. Currently developing a compilation of Football images. Using a 300mm f2.8 with a 2x teleconverter for these images.
