Why would anyone possibly like the idea of having frozen water troughs which need breaking, gloves which are too thick to do anything with and when they're taken off, you instantly lose any feel in your fingers- always being ill, mud, ice, snow. and not being able to sit in the garden with just a t-shirt and shorts on?
