Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Happy 2nd Birthday Miranda Rose. Our little Randa Bear turned 2 on Sunday. The time has flown. She is a sassy, smart, loving little girl. She is tender with her sister and loves her so much. She makes me laugh almost daily with her Miranda'isms. Today's was "Oh Dear", I mean really where did that one come from? She was running around too much at her Birthday Party so I just have a lot of blurry pics of her. Driving a car at Chuck E Cheese with Stuart Little. But loves the snow.

Sunday, April 21, 2013. Cailyn's Crusaders- National Walk for Epilepsy 2013. Thanks for supporting Cailyn's Crusaders. The Epilepsy Walk never fails to deliver interesting weather. This year it was pushed back 3 weeks into April and you would have sworn it was January. It's always a fun event though- seeing all the support for people like Cailyn. Very grateful to our team, especially my family who traveled from NY and FL. Note the snowsuit- it was THAT cold. Cailyn's Crusaders at the Washington Monument.

In the center of this city there is a statue of Skanderbeg. We went on Airbnb.com and rented an awesome house on Dewey Beach. It was a happy medium between Philly and DC so every one's drive was not too shabby. It was kinda chilly on the beach so the great "Spring Break Tans" we thought we would get. never really happened. But it was still beautiful! The Places We'll Go.

Saturday, July 18, 2015. Albanian Adventures (part 1). We didn't do much in Sarande and only planned for one night there. Which was enough. The next day we got on the bus for the hour and a half ride to Gjirokaster! The ride was pretty crappy. Really hot on a tiny bus going back and forth on many many switchbacks. A mommy's journal about her very special baby girl. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. How it all went down. I remember thinking this seemed like an over-reaction, but okay. I called Allen at work to let him know and got the kids together. Believe it or not, this was our first trip to the ER. I don't know how it is possible that we had a nearly 4 year old boy and never spent time in the ER, but I guess we were lucky (until this point). This is Callie just before she was diagnosed. A mommy's journal about her very special baby girl. Friday, March 7, 2014. We have had quite a winter here in Northern Virginia! By the standards of my friends farther north, it has been nothing, but VA is not very good at dealing with cold weather and snow removal. We live in the more densely populated eastern part of our county and often get snow days due to the conditions of the roads in the more rural western region. The other day was our 13th snow day! Callie did great in the snow this year!

Callie has a rare neurological disorder called bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria (PMG). She has also experienced infantile spasms and has been diagnosed as failure to thrive. Callie currently battles seizures, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and apraxia of speech, and has a G tube. Life on Mystery Lane. Didn't See It Coming.

We are all around grateful to be coming back to a situation we already know the ins and outs to. We were more so fly by the seat of our pants without little miss Brynn. Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Upped the dose again. So Cailyn is doing awesome. We upped her dose again July 29th to .50 ml dose 5000mg twice a day. We'll test blood in a few weeks and then we see neurologist again in mid-September. We'll see if we can take away an RX seizure med at some point soon. She's doing great. A few seizures here and there but she's super awake and alert. and HAPPY. Fun giggles often. Today they had a color run. They asked KK to smile. She didn't agree. Fun times. We're in Week 15.
