I just realised that the Sorting Hat doesn't actually have lungs to shout at the top of, making that idiom descriptive as a metaphor but also literally false. I feel like this should feel as brain-breaky as it does, considering that it's arguably the least bizarre thing going on in any given Harry Potter fic. Now my head hurts. Post a new comment.
