Pikey's Progress

Friday, November 03, 2006. Hurray - I've finally managed to get back into my Blog Site. Come back here on Monday for an update on the weekends result. Posted by Pikey @ 2:32 AM. Tuesday, July 25, 2006. For me, Sunday was one of those days where you have 110% confidence in how to approach a venue and then it changes completely and you are left looking very silly. Stubpond was the venue for the latest Leatherhead DAS club match and having won last time we visited with 168lb, I thought I had it sussed!

Pikey's Progress: March 2006

http://www.pikeysprogress.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 29, 2006. My final match before a self imposed 20 day "No match" holiday break was my usual wednesday open at. suprise, suprise.Willinghurst! When fishing catfood on the hook I usually feed catfood "mush" and in true Blue Peter style, here is how I prepare it! Anyway, the match was on Old and New Lake and with only 20 pegs in, there weren't really any that I didn't mind drawing. Don drew before me and picked out Old 13 and I drew Old 14, so at least we could have a chat! About 25lb and a...

http://www.pikeysprogress.blogspot.com/2006/07/getting-it-wrong-right-this-should-be.html

Tuesday, July 04, 2006. Right, this should be a short blog. Went to Gold Valley to partner my mate Ross in the Maver Pairs. We decided to try and fish to our strengths (Yes, that was a mistake) and I drew peg 91 on Syndicate. With it not being an end peg and not being allowed to use paste, you could see that I had little chance of success! I recovered enough to fish the last hour and a bit but still never had a bite. Didn’t hang around for any results as I felt so ill. End of Blog! No holes this time!

Pikey's Progress: June 2006

http://www.pikeysprogress.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 26, 2006. If Jon Arthur didn’t already write an article in Match Fishing titled End Peg then I think I’d have to change the title of this from Pikey’s Progress having drawn the end peg yet again on the Leatherhead DAS match at Stubb Pond on Sunday. The turnout was down considerably due to all the saddos who would rather watch the football than fish a match are these people normal? Why do you always hook a giant fish first cast before your tackle has been tested? The final match result was:-.

Pikey's Progress

http://www.pikeysprogress.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-hot-was-that-with-hottest-day-ever.html

Friday, July 21, 2006. How hot was that? With the hottest day ever recorded forecast, someone made the sensible decision to fish the Wednesday Willinghurst Open from 3pm-8pm and whilst I was not happy that we had lost 90 minutes of fishing off the normal length Willinghurst match, it turned out to be an inspired decision. It would certainly be a tough one to win. 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock and two edge swims one each side. I dropped in the hurriedly shallowed up paste rig and was soon battling an 8lb carp&...

MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Friday, September 22, 2006. Sunday 10th Sept - Bough Beech. Sunday 17th September -Framfield Brookhouse. Framfield is a pig of a drive for me, but i came 2nd there last year and the competitive streak in me meant I had to see if i could go one better. I knew a low draw would be needed, we turned up late, there were 3 numbers left, including 5 and 7, i duly picked 5 out, a good start! Nick weighed in 150 for 3rd. I'm sure that you too will associate wi...

MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Tuesday, March 21, 2006. Hello and welcome to my first blog. Quite frankly I'm a bit crap at this lark - both blogging and fishing! But I got to thinking that people dont really want to be spending a few quid every week to read about crap in the papers especially when you can log on for free and read my crap instead. Enough talking crap, lets talk about fishing! It just is. (And if anyone from there ever reads this, update your website! If anyone in t...

MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Monday, August 21, 2006. Sunday 13th August - Willinghurst Old and New. Sunday 20th August - Willinghurst Top. A quick mention of Sunday 13th:. Its was split across Old and New. You wanted to be on Old, ideally 7 or 14 would do it - New was fishing awful since reopening (closed due to bad algae / fish deaths). Subsequently drew New 20. My blogging oppos PIkey and Hathers naturally drew Old 7 and 14. And it rained. A lot. Sunday 20th - Top lake. Next c...

MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Sunday, May 14, 2006. Sat 13th May - Stubpond - Polemania qualifier. Sunday 14th May - Leatherhead match at Willinghurst top. I'd been really looking forward to this weekend, a rare Sat and Sun outing - very rare considering I've only been fishing 7 times all year - so with the wife's good cheer ringing in me ears, it was back to Stubpond. MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Monday, April 24, 2006. After a very long grey winter, I finally finished the decorating and got back by the water. I've booked in for the forthcoming Maver. Pairs at Willow Park, and the Fishomania qualifier at Stubpond. So what with the weather starting to warm up a bit it was time to start getting down and having a look. Cohorts pointed me in the right direction, and off I went. MARGINPIG'S BLOG - a sorry tale of Matchfishing woes. Wednesday, October 04, 2006. Sunday 24th September - Willinghurst Open. One of the venues I'm keen to get to grips with this year is Willinghurst, and as the first round of the AT Winter League is on the venue in a week's time, the Sunday open followed by the midweek open would give me the perfect opportunity to get upto speed and see if I've made any progression. Wednesday 27th - Willinghurst open - Top Lake. A very rare midweek outing for me, but I'...
