Pine Ridge Studio - Pottery
http://www.pine-ridge.ca/pottery/pottery.html
Pine Ridge Studio pottery is made out of. This means it is strong, durable, and ready for years of use. It is completely. Most pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel while others are created using clay slabs shaped by hand over plaster molds. All the glazes used are formulated and mixed at the Studio, and all the decorations are done by hand using a combination of sponging, hand-made stencils and brush work. Each piece is unique. And other garden items, and one before Christmas featuring.

The Studio On The Ridge: The Valentine Tree, A Saga In One Parts
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-valentine-tree-saga-in-one-parts.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Thursday, February 12, 2015. The Valentine Tree, A Saga In One Parts. The daydream was interrupted, briefly, by actual Work, but eventually she made a slab, cut out hearts, stamped interesting designs into them. then stepped back and realized they were all too big and started over. and eventually she had some hearts. Eventually, with the assistance of a stray visitor, an old photo flood duct taped to an old pole, a rare gleam...

The Studio On The Ridge: December 2014
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. And a Blackbir-rdd in a Pine Tree. Actually, five of them, although I believe I was promised 12 of them, but in the wacky world of Christmas Carols, who's counting? Wacky is right. Exactly what are turtledoves? Do we have these in the Frozen North? Turtles I get, and doves. But turtledoves? Things that fly, but re-e-a-l-l-y slowly? Don't they all call? And what will I do with all these birds? Now i...

The Studio On The Ridge: April 2015
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Saturday, April 18, 2015. I've been busy making stuff for the Carp Farmers' Market which will be opening soon (May 9 in fact) and I plan to have some Bird mugs, bowls and plates. To me, this is a Blackbird, hopping around on the ground looking for whatever he can find. Since it is Spring, I've given him some large flowers to hop under, lots of little seedlings and even some snow drifting down. Here is a finished mug:. I'm not...

The Studio On The Ridge: June 2014
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Raven, the Trouble Maker. I see I haven't posted for a while. well, blame Raven. What I hadn't expected was that people would like them. So I did some more, and then some more and then some mugs and one thing led to another until this spring I foolishly applied to be included in my local Arts Society's. But I did. So I figured, well, OK, lots of time, I don't need these pieces until July 14th. ...So th...

The Studio On The Ridge: February 2015
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Saturday, February 28, 2015. A blog I follow ( Hortus 2. Had a post about a new fern nursery in Nova Scotia. Naturally, I immediately became totally obsessed with all things Fern. The first thing I did was to consult my handy-dandy Smartass calender and pick a day for my annual Fern Day. I picked June 28, if you want to know. You can find out more about Fern Day on my other blog. Here is one I liked:. The daydream was interru...

The Studio On The Ridge: September 2014
http://studio-on-the-ridge.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Friday, September 5, 2014. Speaking of knitting, which we weren't, I've made some yarn bowls. Tomorrow is Alpaca Day at the Carp Farmers' Market and I thought some yarn bowls would be appropriate. Since I can't draw an alpaca to save my life, I finished them in plain colours although I did do a few with my cartoon sheep design. Size, some in Hat-and-scarf. Size and some in Cozy-Sweater. An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. I'm just racking up the Personal Victories here, right, left and centre! First, my garbage got picked up yesterday! Garbage is so complicated these days my husband threw up his hands and quit. He hasn't thrown anything out since 1976. Then today I managed to cancel the insurance on the car we haven't had for more than a month! My phone handsets have a rough history. I take them along with me while...

An occasional blog about pottery, making pots, and living the life of a potter. Thursday, February 5, 2015. Air Plant Holders - A Little Diversion. Sometimes a potter needs a break. Much as I love making mugs and bowls and plates, sometimes I want to play a little. This week I indulged myself by making some Air Plant holders. Here are a few pretend-planted:. The Pine Rider Writer
The Pine Rider Writer. Monday, September 21, 2009. Tyler Hansbrough will succeed in the NBA. There have been plenty of naysayers who doubt Tyler Hansbrough's ability to transition from the college game to the NBA. Well I say nay to their nays. Hansbrough played four successful years at UNC at Chapel Hill. He is not what some would call a "natural athlete," but for anything he lacked in raw talent he more than made up for by putting in blood. The Pine Rider Writer. Thursday, September 3, 2009.
