Monday, October 31, 2016. Postage Stamp Doll Quilt. My quilting friend said, "You made a postage stamp doll quilt! I said, "I thought I made a little hand-pieced, hand-quilted 1-inch scrap quilt.". It's a 22-inch square. Whatever it is, it was a lot of fun to do. NaNo starts tonight. Is anyone joining me? Links to this post. Saturday, October 29, 2016. Oh, now I remember. I couldn't figure out why I would have stuck a needlework project at the very back of a too-deep-to-actually-use cabinet. The best thi...

Hunter on Maui: November 2016
http://hunteronmaui.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 27, 2016. I finally spent my Amazon gift card. My friend gave me an Amazon gift card six months ago. I have probably shopped and un-shopped with the thing at least 100 times. I'd put things in my card and then come back a few days later and delete all the items. I can't remember ever enjoying a gift card more. And now the quilting area of my brain is coming alive again. I put my gift card in the system and ordered:. And I still have $6.39 on my gift card. Links to this post. My home....

Hunter on Maui: Asking when you know -your- answer
http://hunteronmaui.blogspot.com/2017/01/asking-when-you-know-your-answer.html
Friday, January 13, 2017. Asking when you know -your- answer. Finally, a better pic. My project finally saw a little daylight. The variegated thread looks better in person. I cut the threads so they went from darker to lighter shades. So I kept going. Nothing fancy. Just stitches that let me keep moving. And I love the way it looks. Probably because of the way it helped me feel. Now on to asking a question that you already know your. I threw them out. Yes Not thinking about it? So I tossed them and smiled.

Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: October 2014
http://blog.geneblack.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Sewing my handwoven fabric. This morning was rainy and gloomy. The rain stopped but it is still gloomy here. I decided to brighten up my day. Did I mention that it was chilly this morning? Well, it was and that helped to inspire me. I have never had a poncho" So I took my fabric and started looking at it (and yes fondling it.). I tried one fabric but it didn't seem right to me. Oh yes, I do like that fabric for this idea.

Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: Quilt Angels

My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this. I found out today that the Ogden House youth facility is being closed. Due to state budget issues and lack of funding the facility will not be able to remain open. At this time the board of directors is desperately seeking funding to allow this much needed service to continue. Although with the poor state budget, it is uncertain at this time. It is preferred that you put a label on the quilt. Whether or...

Gene Black an Alabama Artist and Quilter: March 2015
http://blog.geneblack.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
My Creative Life - Quilts, Art, Weaving and More. Saturday, March 28, 2015. I have been making some wall hangings for a consignment gallery. These are woven with purchased wool yarn as the warp. I used some of my handwoven yarns in the weft of the fabric on these hangings. I also added some embellishments. Starting on the left: The first weaving has polished stones added as embellishments. The second one has beads that I made with polymer clay probably 3 or 4 years ago. I can not reply. Links to this post.
