The name Hanchett began, in 1066, at a location just west of Haverhill in Suffolk County, England. The family, probably of Norman descent, took their name from that location which remains today as Hanchett Hall, shown above. There and in Shudy Camps, Cambridgeshire they prospered until the "Peasants Revolt" of 1381 when the leader of the family was beheaded for supporting the peasants! When are you so far in you can’t get out? Now that I am by choice career less (refusing to say retired since it makes me feel so old) I have developed this reflective, observatoristic sense about me. One genre that particularly interests me is the careers of the younger people I know. My heavens the struggle, the angst of it all. Was it that way for me way back when? And as all my observations tend to do. this led me to thinking about life with horses the struggle, the angst of it all!
