I’m still around! On: April 6, 2011. I have been so flat out the last few weeks that I’ve barely had a chance to blog let alone read my favourite ones.😦 I just wanted to post quickly to let you all know that I’m still here, just very busy. I survived the craft fair! It was great fun and I learnt a lot and met some lovely people. I have loads of pics that I’ll upload this weekend with a proper blog post on it. I hope everyone is keeping busy too and enjoying the gorgeous sunshine. On: March 9, 2011.

The colours above are the only ones I have at the moment. I’m limited by my ribbon selection. I have many different shades of felt but need to order more shades of ribbon. A Girly Tea Cosy.

I have a tiny bit still stashed in the green suitcase under the window but shh, don’t tell Weng! Now that I finally tidied up my sewing room, I thought it a good time to ask Weng to take a few photos of it for me. It doesn’t stay in this state for very long, especially when I’m cutting out stuff! My padded out Dolly. One day soon I hope to be able to remove most of her padding. This lovely lady is Do...

My Ladybird Dress and Part I of My Rooibos dress. On: February 21, 2011. I’ve been planning to make a Rooibos dress for the longest time. I’ve just not had the motivation to do it. Part of that is due to when I made a dress to wear to my brother’s wedding and proudly showed it to my Mum, she said “its ok, you don’t have to wear it, I’ll buy you a dress”. WHAT? I'm such a Daddy's girl. And one with my two brothers. The taller one is the one who was getting married. I had some very proud moments wearing th...

http://amysquickunpick.blogspot.com/2013/08/new-look-6184-finished.html
Musings on sewing and the like. Thursday, 29 August 2013. New Look 6184 finished! The dress for my mum is finished! Suprisingly, the insertion of the invisible zip went wonderfully and I even hand-stitched the hem (I *hate* hand sewing). Here are some pictures:. The contrast belt worked well too. Here are some close up shots:. All in all, a big pat on the back for me! As this was finished just after lunch, I got on with making McCalls M6744. I'm going to try to reproduce the success of my mum's dress and...

Scruffy Badger's Scruffy Badger Time Blog: Sewing, Knitting, Running and Silliness. SB’s handmade wardrobe. Lapped Zipper Tutorial: like my Mamma taught me. Howdy doody. As mentioned in my Simplicity 2154. Post I wondered whether I should share the way that I was taught to sew in a zip. Apparently it is a lapped zipper and for some it is a sewing milestone, perhaps due to it being more of a vintage method? No prizes for spotting the special guest appearance by world class sewing machine fluff). Now, head...
