With the kind support from both the Quantitative Methods Research Group. And the GIScience Research Group. At the Royal Geographical Society with the IBG. We are able to offer 5 early careers bursaries. To be eligible for a bursary you will need to be registered for a PhD or Masters degree and have a full paper accepted in the main programme. More applications than bursaries are typically received, so they will be assigned on a competitive basis with later stage PhD students being giving priority.

Linux devops with fifteen years experience. I deploy and monitor large, diverse application stacks. I write software in ruby and javascript to make this fun and reliable. Devops for an application stack using ruby, rails, node, elasticsearch, cassandra, riak, redis, resque, nginx. Fully-automated deployment using puppet, capistrano, git. Monitored using statsd, graphite, ganglia, logstash. To tie it all together I wrote dashiki. Senior sysadmin for apache/tomcat/sapi stack. System automation in perl.
