And two new Ligne Bretagne Collectors. To the website catalogs, for those who may be interested. There's a green one. Also, check the News page. For info on the further tweaking of the website, including the new estimated dollar pricing in the catalogs. I've worked with briar from many different sources, and I have the rare ability to be...

But I had two things worth saying, a rare event in itself. I'm back this time to introduce (or re-introduce) the Ligne Bretagne Morta Collector. Too small for pipes with traditional shanks, yes, but. What's different about it? So, this will be the next site update! Morta Pipes Ligne Bretagnes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Talbert Pipe Blog: April 2013
http://talbertpipes.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
News from the Pipemaking Workshop with the Funk. Thursday, April 25, 2013. I couldn't decide, and as this would be a very longterm business partner for me, I chose to order one of each and compare them directly, and return the loser. Here they are, freshly arrived. Sexy, sexy keyboards:. The packaging is remarkably similar on each, and I'll not go into it here as I'm not a packaging fetishist - I'm interested in the meat, not the wrapping. My first impressions were as follows:. Is the Matias bad? I speak...

The Talbert Pipe Blog: October 2013
http://talbertpipes.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
News from the Pipemaking Workshop with the Funk. Sunday, October 20, 2013. I started off with some very general sketches of a wide variety of subjects, but kept coming back to this sort of bowl shape. I fiddled around with this idea and produced the sketch at left, which was ok but not really what I wanted - It was much more Goblin than Talbert Halloween, at least as I wanted this year's run to be, and ultimately it became a new Goblin. The pipe on the right was a nice, straightforward expansion chamber ...

The Talbert Pipe Blog: November 2013
http://talbertpipes.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
News from the Pipemaking Workshop with the Funk. Tuesday, November 05, 2013. Made One for Myself. I got a new pipe for myself! And yes, that is a dark green stain with a marbled green band attached to a faux-amber stem. When I first found these stems I was all excited because I thought they were really beautiful, but when I went to sand and compound them, I quickly found they had a really strange characteristic - The exterior orange tint comes off! The Talbert Pipe Blog: January 2015
http://talbertpipes.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
News from the Pipemaking Workshop with the Funk. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Making the New Ligne Bretagnes. If I were making this as a Talbert Briar, it would in many ways be simpler. I'd cut a length of stem rod, hand-turn the tenon to the desired size, file the stem to shape, drill and hand-turn a custom band to the desired style, and drill and turn/shape the bowl to what I wanted. All of this would add up to $400 of shop labor hours. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Pipes and Tob...
