B 1973), the province artist for music in Häme, is one of Finland’s most versatile musicians. His instrument selection includes modern guitars and the mandolin but also a number of period instruments such as the lute, vihuela and Baroque guitar. He performs regularly both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. He has worked with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, Avanti! The Tapiola Sinfonietta and Pipoka.

Pipoka was founded by Jarmo Julkunen and Veli Kujala in 1999. The band started by playing instrumental music in the spirit of the great Brazilian accordionist Sivuca (1930-2006). The first album (Veli Kujala: Pipoka, Rockadillo Records) was released in 2004 and featured compositions by Gismonti, Pascoal and Sivuca alongside of a few original pieces. Was released in 2010.
