Deconstructing the Learning Commons at Home. Sharing the life of a virtual librarian, one day at a time. Favourite Language Arts Links. Techie Sites of the Week! Sunday, March 22, 2015. Whats Love got to do with IT? This past month we have been exploring the Love of Jesus Christ at church (Peace Portal Alliance in South Surrey). I was struck this week with our pastor Scott Dickie's passion for the demonstration of LOVE in our community. S vision is to raise disciples and spread the Gospel into the homes ...

Deconstructing the Learning Commons at Home. Sharing the life of a virtual librarian, one day at a time. Favourite Language Arts Links. Techie Sites of the Week! Friday, May 23, 2014. Today I am encouraged! Ten years ago I started working at HCS schools. I initiated relationships and learned how to be a follower and a leader. I discovered the joys of learning and working from home. I homeschooled my son for 7 years and watched him grow, struggle and lean on the Lord. I learned the value of community.

Learning to Grow: November 2011
http://learningtogrowathome.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Inspiration and support for families who learn at home. Monday, November 21, 2011. What the government considers an outcome, many of us consider real-life parenting and we do them in response to the scriptures and God’s calling rather than to the PLOs. That is one of my favourite things about homeschooling; we get to spend precious meaningful time doing what we would do anyway and not be forced to learn it from a textbook while sitting in cold seats. Did they have a good attitude? I Needed This Right Now!

Learning to Grow: September 2011
http://learningtogrowathome.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Inspiration and support for families who learn at home. Thursday, September 15, 2011. Schedules, early mornings, routine, reading together on the couch, writing in their journals, completing workbook pages, creating models, completing experiments. This was my vision of what our days would be like once school began again. Well, I was hit with another reminder (I obviously need yet another) that indeed God is in control - NOT ME! Well, first day started out. I can't just stop! Then up came another mess.

Inspiration and support for families who learn at home. Irlen's Syndrome: Up Close and Personal. By: Krista Barney, Learning Services Curriculum Consultant. For example, my husband in his 4th year university was finally helped by the learning assistance teacher at the local college. Even though we didn’t have an official diagnosis of any kind, we knew from reading an article on Dyslexia that he probably had something along those lines. The words don’t do that for you? Inspiration and support for families who learn at home. Thursday, November 10, 2011. I Needed This Right Now! Encouraging Kids Along the Path to Learning. Offer us a great word picture. Word pictures (metaphors) can help us visualize and grab hold of a big concept and a deep meaning. The word "education" is not a word picture. As parents who teach our children it can help to picture daily life as a "learning path" and that we're on it with our kids. Here's a new pine tree only four inches high! Column or...

Learning to Grow: PEACE
http://learningtogrowathome.blogspot.com/2011/12/peace.html
Inspiration and support for families who learn at home. Saturday, December 10, 2011. In front of me on my desk propped up against my window are the letters PEACE. They remind me to keep work in perspective when things can get crazy and overwhelming. Jesus came to give peace and where there is not peace, there is no Jesus. I am not talking about a physical quiet and calm peace, but the deep down spirit of peace no matter what is whirling around us. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Agility was NO FUN, and I found a much more productive use of my tunnel, as you can see! I certainly recommend this to any of you pups - as you dive into the shade of your tunnel, stop in the middle and allow your confused human to keep running along without you.). Site designed by JOHN PINCH. For her botanic paintings, Pippa works mainly from her own photographs of natural subjects. She often crops the images to find compositions which create an exciting tension between dramatic shape, colour and intense realism. In some of her paintings Pippa has taken a step further into more abstract representations. She sometimes studies a section of one of her original paintings to produce another.
