Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: Purse, bag, tote bag, and... oh look! Another purse!
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011/08/purse-bag-tote-bag-and-oh-look-another.html
Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Purse, bag, tote bag, and. oh look! So I've been thinking about this sewing journey lately. I've had some very basic sewing skills for a couple decades now (you should have been around for my pillow-making phase when I was ten-ish! But it's only been over the past year that I've really focused on developing this talent. I like to practice new (to me) techniques on things like purses and aprons, before attempting them on actual clothing. Yeah for my memory! The purse in the front...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: The Bopple Ball Challenge!
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011/07/bopple-ball-challenge.html
Sunday, July 10, 2011. The Bopple Ball Challenge! Since I had never seen anything like this before, I'll explain it as if noone has seen anything like this before. In other words, with a LOT of pictures! Introducing, the Bopple Ball! A good friend of mine, that I've known for over two decades (EEK! BACK TO THE SEWING PROJECT! As his name implies, he's a boy, so all the cute little girl outfits I'd seen were obviously out of the question. I was walking around. Because I was repeatedly shoving. The back e...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: It's "Bow Wow Blankie" Time!
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011/07/its-bow-wow-blankie-time.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. It's "Bow Wow Blankie" Time! About a week ago, I finished a small quilt as a gift for Liam's 2nd birthday. Liam is the son of Chris and Jennifer, good friends of mine. I would have posted this earlier, but I wanted to wait until after the quilt had arrived at its final destination in Reston, VA. I've received confirmation that it has been received, and is already being enjoyed, so now I'm able to share my little accomplisment! I used a pattern called "Bow Wow Blankie," by. I'll be...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: Some Projects Just Take a Little Longer than Others...
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2012/01/some-projects-just-take-little-longer.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. Some Projects Just Take a Little Longer than Others. I finished two quilts within a week! Hold up. It sounds way more impressive than it actually is. There were apron patterns, pieces of in-progress purses, home decor projects, dresses in various stages of completion, and, naturally - quilts. What can I say? I was overly optimistic about how much I thought I could complete over the course of 11 days.). Now, everyone, gather round and I will share the tale of two quilts. Make I...

Tales from the Stitchin' Side of Life...: February 2011
http://stitchinsideoflife.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 21, 2011. Seven - No EIGHT Yellow Birdies on an Apron! READ ALL ABOUT IT! Receiving my incoming tax returns Presidents Day Sale at JoAnn = 28 new Simplicity patterns and 1 completed apron! What can I say? Our patience was rewarded! The Presidents Day sale had Simplicity patterns 5 for $5, limit 10! Between the two of us, and more than one trip, we got 28 new patterns. According to our receipts, we saved about $425 on those patterns alone! Totally ridiculous, right? 65279; Aprons, really?
