It is actually pretty amazing that God has been so gracious as to allow this relationship to weather all of the storms that typically can scuttle a marriage like ours. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Life and All of its Ups and Downs. The month started out with a great couple of days off down in Southern Oregon. I even got a chance to get some fishing line wet on the Rogue River. It would have been fun to actually catch a fish but alas, that wasn't to be. Sunday, July 31, 2011. What Happened To July? We spent another quick night at the motel and then it was back to Portland to pack for our annual campout at Detroit Lake. I'll just let you in on a little secret. I never got my camera out of its little pouch this year. Monday, April 13, 2015. We're Going To Miss You Joel. Joel and Julia were always invited and present at family events because they were like family. I am sad as are all of his myriad other friends but we just need to continue to remind ourselves that he fell off the trail Sunday and into the arms of Jesus. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Are You Telling Me Those Hands Are Mine? Today I'm in a restaurant and my dining companion asks to borrow my phone for a picture. Well, she took the picture that I expected but when I downloaded the pics, I discovered this one that I didn't know had been taken. I have to say, these hands are starting to look a little aged. Yikes! I have a rather physical day job and my hobby income job also takes a toll on my body but this image is still just a little shocking.

Monday, July 30, 2012. Family and Friends Detroit Lake Campout 2012. We just got home after another great week away at Detroit Lake. This event is eagerly anticipated each year. This year we probably had around eighty participants from one year olds to over eighty year olds. The weather was fantastic, everyone stayed safe and good times were had by all. Saturday, May 28, 2011. We decided not to stay in "Downtown" Seattle because for some reason they are able to command a premium for the rooms. We drove a couple of miles into Bellevue and had a very nice room for much less. Perhaps with enough advanced notice one might aquire lodging near the city center for a lot less but this was a spur of the moment decision. Here's what we got for the money. Don't look at me! You have to look behind me. How about those wonderfully colorful vegetables and fruits.
