In July 2008, Mary Ryan Gillespie, Headteacher of Pirniehall Primary School in Pilton, Edinburgh visited Say Ta Nar School in Mae Sot. In July 2009, Mary returned with teachers Claire Mitchell and Natasha Millar. This July, Claire and Vanessa Muirhead will visit Say Ta Nar. Pirniehall and Say Ta Nar have been linked together in a learning partnership since Autumn 2007. The visits will strengthen this link and will enable both schools to plan future learning together projects.

Pirniehall visits the Thai/Burma border. Monday, 19 July 2010. Our last day already. We can't believe our last day has arrived. Everybody has been so welcoming and has looked after us so fantastically well. Say Ta Nar has felt like a home from home. Neeshar has really looked after us and it's been great getting to try so many delicious foods and treats. Yummy treats to try. Lovely longyi's - gifts from the teachers. Not always so serious! Pirniehall visits the Thai/Burma border. Thursday, 15 July 2010. Borderline, the art gallery that was involved in the making our Our Burma Book. Turned 6 today. They had a birthday celebration holding an art exhibition of Borderline Gallery's member artists. There was a even special performance from the Babymime artists. Pirniehall visits the Thai/Burma border. Tuesday, 13 July 2010. Have arrived safely in Mae Sot after a very long trip. We were met by Pho Cho, Neeshar and Geoff. It was lovely to connect with our Say Ta Nar friends again. It was very exciting for Vanessa to finally meet Pho Cho and Neeshar after hearing so much about them. We have met the Campie team and already started to share our teaching stories. Checked in and ready! 13 July 2010 at 16:38. Enjoy the heat - its raining here again! Our last day already.

Pirniehall visits the Thai/Burma border. Friday, 16 July 2010. A day for collaboration. Today our lessons all contained elements of collaborative learning. We tried to get the pupils to work in small groups with no more than 3 children in each. We wanted everybody to be involved and on task and we wanted different members of the group to have different roles. Our first lesson looked Pirniehall's local wildlife. The children in Grades 2-3 really enjoyed looking at Primary 4's work. Learning from each other.
