Three River Sports: Opening Day At Long Last
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2009/04/opening-day-at-long-last.html
Monday, April 6, 2009. Opening Day At Long Last. Paul Maholm will take the hill for the Bucs a bit later on today as long as it isn't freaking snowing in St. Louis. Because the season kicks off today, I wanted to finally get down my personal predictions for the players and the team as a whole, as any predictions that come after the start of the opener come with an asterisk attached to them. So here we go:. Ryan Doumit: 465 AB .297 BA/ .360 OBP/ .480 SLG. Freddy Sanchez 573 AB .295/ .332/ .403. Sean Burne...

Three River Sports: Three Rivers Three Links: April 2
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2009/04/three-rivers-three-links-april-2.html
Thursday, April 2, 2009. Three Rivers Three Links: April 2. I've been slacking the past few days with stuff on the site unfortunately, but hopefully I'll be back on top of things starting today with the permanent return of your daily links and the long-awaited Pitt hoops season recap and some Pirate and Penguin stuff, too. Involving academics in a sports column. Turns out I go to a pretty good school. Not like it's helping me find a job or anything, though. From the other day about 09/10 Panthers. Bu...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Three Rivers Three Links: March 31. Still, I needed to get back to writing something. So, first I'm giving you your daily dose of the TRTL followed by some Pirates stuff later on today at some point and at some point in the next 24 hours a breakdown of the NL Central. Let's get to the links:. It's Tuesday, so in keeping with recent tradition (2 weeks' worth), I'm linking to a 24-related blog. Today, I'm linking to the wildly popular blog Dave Barry. Three River Sports: Sad Day
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2009/03/sad-day.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. Wow What a tough loss. I really can't say much more than that. I think this is the most heart-breaking loss I've ever experienced for one of my teams. I actually feel depressed and sad right now. But I wanted to make sure to come on here and say Congratulations to the Panthers on a spectacular season, a season that goes down as the best in school history in my book. Well put, I definitely echo those sentiments. March 29, 2009 at 12:14 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Three River Sports: Will Ohman disses the Pirates and other weird happenings in Bradenton
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2009/03/will-ohman-disses-pirates-and-other.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Will Ohman disses the Pirates and other weird happenings in Bradenton. Look, I'm well aware of the many shortcomings of our local baseball club. I know they are on the verge of setting the all-time record for most consecutive losing seasons in major professional sports history. And I know how miserable that culture of losing can be for the players. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pittsburgh's Black and Gold". Clark and Heptner (The Suburban Rob Rossis). Three River Sports: November 2008
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2008. The Thanksgiving Weekend Recap. As always on Sunday night of Monday morning, here's my weekend recap, complete with thoughts, links, stories, and inane anecdotes about all the teams from around the Three Rivers, with some other stuff thrown in to boot. And of course, there's the work of Dany Sabourin, who has really brought his A game since the Flower went down. He also still sits atop the league in Goals Against Average. Marc-Andre Fleury's injury looks like it will hold our t...

Three River Sports: What Will The 09/10 Panthers Look Like?
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2009/03/what-will-0910-panthers-look-like.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. What Will The 09/10 Panthers Look Like? I'm definitely still too depressed to write about this year's current version of the Pitt Hoops team. I just tried to, and while I made it further than my last attempt, it was still nowhere near ready to be posted. I promise, some time in the next couple days I'll finally get to it. 2009/10 Panthers With DeJuan Blair. 2009/10 Without DeJuan Blair. And now onto the more depressing (and realistic) scenario: DeJuan Blair leaving. Pitt Blather ...

Three River Sports: December 2008
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Pitt- Oregon State Sun Bowl Preview. This is almost certainly the final post of the year for us here at Three River Sports, as tomorrow will be filled with watching Pitt athletic teams and drinking, and no one wants a half-drunk posting following the Pitt-OSU game, so have a Happy New Year and be safe out there kids. But before I get to the subject of this little column, I NEEDED to link to this little story. Of course, Jonathan Baldwin will likely get a few shots downfield ea...

Three River Sports: August 2008
http://threeriversports.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Only to the Pirates. In case you've missed it, the Pirates are locking horns with Pedro Alvarez and Scott Boras as we speak in quite possibly the most bizarre storyline yet from a series of already bizarre storylines. Check our old friend Dejan Kovacevic's PBC Blog for the complete up-to-the-minute details, and for now I wanted to weigh in with a few of my personal opinions. What the hell does that even mean? How can both of those things happen in the same vein of reality?
