There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 300,000 stars in this image. Space is a big place. And this is just next door to us. A meteor 100 miles up passes in front of a nebula 1,500 light years away. The nebula lies between us and a galaxy a few hundred million light years away. All three are in the same image; the vastness of the universe and its beauty. An old sign painted on a brick wall, a ghost of a time past, still advertises its product. A huge window frames the scene from within, and without.
