Elijah Francis Graves: July 2013
http://www.elijahgraves.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 30, 2013. This summer I've been trying to mix in a little science and school work into our summer routine. So far we've experimented with salt water, cleaned pennies, and mixed baking soda and vinegar (as a part of making watercolor paints). Today we made Elephant Toothpaste. You can find a link to the tutorial here at Modern Parents Messy Kids. It is an easy experiment, made with ingredients we had on hand- yeast, dish soap, food coloring, and hydrogen peroxide. Thursday, September 12, 2013. We are hoping they teach pattern matching next. Sunday, September 8, 2013. For a perpetual student/teacher/slave to a school calendar, fall is kind of a somber time. No more carefree days, suddenly I know what a weekend is and it is way too short. why didn't they lobby for a three day weekend? New hiking boots courtesy of my neighbor's kick ass garage sale. new red laces have been ordered. Like father, like son. Stopping to take a picture of the beautiful nature scenery.

Monday, January 21, 2013. The dentist ordered X Rays, his first. The dentist gave him a clean bill of health, though he did order a soft diet (an excuse for more oatmeal and yogurt meals). He lisps a little, but that should stop once the swelling goes down. There is a chance the teeth will brown due to bruising, but he shouldn't lose them. His dentist is at Greenlake, so beforehand we hit the park. Running around the lake, Eli spotted this payphone:. To which he loudly yelled, "Hey mom, look!

Sunday, November 10, 2013. I'm not sure where the time has gone. Once minute it is summer and the next thing you know we are starting that fast slide into the Christmas season. I just got a new phone and so I finally took all the photos off my old phone and loaded them onto my computer. Now I am nostalgic for fancy free summertime with ice cream, sprinklers, and warm sun. IPhone setup with Google Voice and prepaid service. Sunday, June 24, 2012. I setup a used iPhone 3GS for my wife to use prepaid service and Google Voice. My goal was to use a prepaid $0.10/minute service and optimize the use of the minutes and data network to minimize usage costs. Unfortunately the week after I set it up AT&T changed their plans. And now requires a minimum of the $25/month plan in order to get any data service. AT&T GoPhone prepaid plan. Here's the step by step:. What you'll need to buy:.

Sunday, March 31, 2013. For Easter this year I challenged myself to actually try some of the pins I've been pinning. Some were more successful than others; here are the results:. Pin #1 Rug oil onto dyed eggs to increase their shine. This is a stupid tip. You know what else it will do? Make your eggs super slippery. Crack. Pin #2 When your eggs crack, make deviled eggs. You can find her recipe here. She even has an entire cookbook for deviled egg recipes! Pin # 3 Angel Food French Toast. 38 weeks - Middl...

Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Team work to build a new fort. Naughty animals rigged the track to the curtain rod. The other day a friend posted a link to this fantastically awesome parenting idea: DINOVEMBER. Initially, he was skeptical, asking me if I was sure/had I seen them? Why hadn't he heard them? But after the second day he was sold. Now he loves to brainstorm what the animals might think up next. Partially because I am using plush stuffed animals and partially because I don't want to clea...Watch...

Elijah Francis Graves: Book Club
http://www.elijahgraves.com/2013/08/book-club.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. Whenever we travel Eli takes a few books to read as bedtime stories. On our trip earlier this month to Montana, Eli brought Harold and the Purple Crayon. Since it was just Eli and me and our book room was limited (carry on luggage), I was solely in charge of bedtime reading and airplane entertainment. I read Harold and the Purple Crayon approximately 12 times in 6 days. I am not exaggerating. I'll be making our pies in muffin tins more often:). August 30, 2013 at 11:24 PM.

Elijah Francis Graves: December 2013

Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Today is Seattle's coldest day this year- daytime high of 33! Yikes I had blue fingers, toes, and lips all day today. Coincidentally, I just downloaded these touched up images from Eli and my August trip to Montana with my Dad and Peggy. Ahhh, look at that sun! My Dad and Peggy had a talented photographer friend staying with them. She kindly snapped and touched up these photos for me. If only Brian would have been there, perfect Christmas cards!
