November 7th, 2011 Posted by bsmithjmu. I thought i’d left this feeling behind. Months fell off the calendar. But I’m not far from where I started. The faster I run, the more I lose my way. Everyday is still the same. Lost in the middle of the ocean. In this tiny wooden boat. That barely stays afloat. I daydream of a more familiar place. If only I could scream myself awake. But there’s nothing left inside. I’m buried to my shoulders and in comes the tide. In a few minutes I’ll be under.

Even when things fell apart. Both so broken inside. Holding on to a time. A time we felt alive. Your eyes shined so bright. Now they’re sensitive to light. And hard to recognize.
