Foie Gras and Funnel Cakes. In praise of eats–good, bad and in-between. Category: Eats On the Road. The Oregon Trail, Part 1. On August 30, 2015. In the latest installment of Foie Gras and Funnel Cakes, I continue my adventures exploring the Pacific Northwest. Outside the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Anyway, I’ve been hearing all matter of things about Portland (Oregon) for a while now and not just from watching the hilarious musings of Fred Armisen and Carrie Brown on. Much Ado About Nothing. Entitlemen...

About Eugene | Steve and DeAnna
https://steveanddeanna.wordpress.com/about-eugene
About the Soulfood Kitchen. Eugene is a really nice place during the summer — most of the college kids vacate, and you get to hang with the locals and really enjoy the nice weather and unique scenery. But, if you have allergies, make sure to stock some allergy pills because the valley gets clogged with pollen. The downtown mall area is worth meandering through, especially if you visit the Saturday Market. Another great area of Eugene is the Whiteaker neighborhood. World class pub and concert venue and lo...

Hikes and Hops: April 2010
http://hikesandhops.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
The high peaks and good drinks that make life worth living. Friday, April 30, 2010. It's the end of the world. When I was a late-teenager, I visited Canada with my family. Because the drinking age was quite young there, I was able to legally drink beer. My dad and I decided we'd move beyond the regular Coors Light and try to become more enlightened beer drinkers. It tasted, well, like the end of the world. I eventually did become a more enlightened beer drinker. After getting into Americanized imperi...

The Food We Eat: Naam Bowls!
http://foodfortheweek.blogspot.com/2010/02/naam-bowls.html
The Food We Eat. Recipes from a dirty vegan household. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. When I visited my friend, Miguel. In Vancouver BC last summer, we went to The Naam Restaurant. It is a funky little restaurant, reminiscent in decor and attitude of Eugene's Morning Glory Cafe, but it serves dinner! I had the Naam Bowl when I went there, and loved it! Liquid from making the seitan. Carrots, diced, steamed. I had leftover "Vegan Chef's Choice" pizza from PRI. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

kate the hunter: beaches, and food, and red woods, oh my.
http://katethehunter.blogspot.com/2013/06/beaches-and-food-and-red-woods-oh-my.html
Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Beaches, and food, and red woods, oh my. It's been a little more than a month since we got back from our trip. We had a totally wonderful time. We rented a Prius in Seattle, and managed to only dole out $70 on gas during our trip to San Fran. That was nice. Delicious handmade pasta, with a small menu of daily specials. It was clearly a popular place for locals. Amazing local seasonal food. The Walrus and the Carpenter. Hello oyster bar and cocktails! Erick's favourite place I think.
