Seth and Maggie found the first black walnuts of the year and had a big time pounding the fruit with hammers to get to the nut, which they squeezed out with their fingers. Which will no doubt now be stained for quite some time. The Gladdings in Lexington. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Gladdings in Lexington. View my complete profile. The resistance - muse.

The Backyard: November 2011
http://thegladdings.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 22, 2011. This Christmas – buy once, gift twice. An idea has been rumbling around in the back of my mind for a while, and a few days ago it burst forth with a rare degree of creative clarity. I had been thinking about offering to sign and mail copies of “The Story of God, the Story of Us” to people who were looking for Christmas gifts for friends, family, teachers, pastors etc. That is helping their friends get off the streets. Andrea was in the States to receive an award. 3 Final date ...

The Backyard: December 2009

Saturday, December 5, 2009. Waking up to snow. Waking up to snow. Originally uploaded by the gladdings. Maggie and Seth (and us too) were excited to wake up to their first snow ever. They insisted on going outside to play in the 1/4" of snow. Watching them revel in scraping up enough snow for a snow-peanut, and making a snow angel on the pavement (learned from a book, of course) was a delight - oh to be thrilled by such simple things. The Backyard: November 2009
http://thegladdings.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. Last night we heard two more beautiful stories, both of which offered the precious gift of vulnerability. I found myself thinking about them as I lay my head on the pillow last night and again as I rose to run this morning. Both of these stories are being shaped by relinquishing, by letting go of something. The gift of story is profound and one for which I am deeply grateful as I seek to live more faithfully into the Story of God. The Gladdings in Lexington. Hope - foy vance.

g|s|i: saturday summer garden
http://geoffandsherry.blogspot.com/2010/07/saturday-summer-garden.html
Sunday, July 25, 2010. Another warm weekend here in Lex. the tomatoes needed some serious tidying up. sherry managed to harvest a tasty load of veg including okra, tomatoes, carrots, ground cherries (a new favorite), raspberries, beets, and peppers. Some local peaches from the farmers market topped things off for dessert – peach cake in the cast iron skillet. We also discovered an empty bottle launched over our fence into the Jerusalem artichokes. . Posted by geoff and sherry. July 27, 2010 at 4:41 PM.
