my life in my words: You're So Vain
http://amosays.blogspot.com/2010/06/youre-so-vain.html
Tuesday, June 8, 2010. So originally I was going to write a post about my new haircut that I'm absolutely in love with! However, last night was filled with all sorts of Twitter shenanigans and I'd feel like I was cheating everyone from truly enjoying all the best parts of my life if I didn't feature it today. So I'll just let you know that last night I got my haircut at VAIN here in Seattle (for $15! And I'm in love with my hair! So, Parachutefancom asked me this question on my Formspring. And what's bet...

my life in my words: Painting Pictures of Egypt
http://amosays.blogspot.com/2010/03/painting-pictures-of-egypt.html
Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Painting Pictures of Egypt. Tonight was my first ever Seder meal. My small group got together and we made it a potluck/Seder evening. It was a "Christian Seder" actually, not the legit traditional Jewish one . . . we only had 2 hours so we had to shorten it from it's traditional entirety. Though I'm kind of glad we did. I have a really hard time with really traditional things. Here's why:. 1 I have a hard time being serious. 3 I am accident prone. All in all, tonight was pretty g...

A few weeks ago, one of my youth group girls asked me to go trick-or-treating with her, and I agreed because she's so fun to hang with and I haven't been trick-or-treating in forever (naturally). I had so much fun trick-or-treating with T— tonight! She went as a pirate and I went as a narwhal. We got so much loot! One lady even said, "Oh I have something SPECIAL for the big kids! A legit Cake Wreck! Caps lock a...

Camel Trek in the Gobi Desert. Wandering in Puerto Rico ›. Day Trip to Annecy. Written by Emily Scott Photography by Em the Gem. For our five-year anniversary my husband and I decided to take a trip to France. We had already done the whirlwind European tour and this time we wanted to slow down and savor all the food and shopping France had to offer. We concentrated on Paris and Lyon, but we took a day trip to Annecy to satisfy my need to explore! It’s an adventure you won’t soon forget! September 13, 2013.

Ordinary | If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother
https://ifitsnotonething.wordpress.com/2012/07/05/ordinary
If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother. Thoughts about being a mom, having a mom and knowing moms. I just read this article. In The New York Times that expresses so much of what I want to do both as a parent and a person. I loved this article and can’t wait to read the books mentioned. I have been thinking about contentment a lot lately and this quote stood out to me:. Ordinary has a bad rap, and so does settling there is the idea is that we should always want more, she said. But there’s a beauty in.

DIY Passport | If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother

If It's Not One Thing, It's Your Mother. Thoughts about being a mom, having a mom and knowing moms. Forest needs a passport for a trip we are taking this summer. And thus, he needs a picture. I tried to take one at home but had some trouble getting him to pay attention (read: I forgot to use the flash). So I did the very responsible, grown up thing and called FedEx Kinkos. The conversation went like this:. Me: Do you take infant passport photos? Kinko’s employee: Yes. Me: Great. I am on my way. Me: (look...

my life in my words: Help!
http://amosays.blogspot.com/2009/11/help.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. I had a GREAT meeting last night with my Help-Portrait group! We met up at Cupcake Royale and talked details about our Help-Portrait event that we will be holding in Lake City. We'll be working with Low-Income Housing Institute to provide professional quality portraits for free to families that could otherwise not afford to have their portraits done. :D. The awesome thing about Jeremy's vision for this is that it's ALL about others, and not about us (as artists/photographers)...

my life in my words: Something To Believe In (My Parachute Concert Experience)
http://amosays.blogspot.com/2010/11/something-to-believe-in-parachute.html
Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Something To Believe In (My Parachute Concert Experience). My set list autographed by the band. Sadly, Seattle wasn’t on the list, so I did what I had to—I hopped a flight to Dallas, Texas to spend my birthday weekend with my best friend, and to go to that concert at The House of Blues. Will Anderson and Nate McFarland. Not only was I going to go to an amazing show, and be able to hear the new songs, but I got to bring two friends along for free! To say I was excited might b...
