planes and spaces: April 2011

http://www.planesandspaces.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Insights into an artist's work and ideas. Friday, April 22, 2011. It was happening at Hatchfest. April 15th I was in Charlotte opening the McColl Art Center show, and Carlton took this installation to the YMI Hatch party - where it was really popular. It was meant to be writ large in Pack Place Park with 2 projectors, a coin-meter and other niceties, but was rained off. So, a success! Little disappointed that the installation isn't credited anywhere but with all that was going on that night - that week!

Positive Innovation: Vestiges of civilization

http://positiveinnovation.blogspot.com/2010/06/vestiges-of-civilization.html

In art can lead the way to change in a broader sense. Thursday, June 24, 2010. I'm a long time admirer of Richard Slee - back when I had a production pottery even, or. especially. that's why I'm now a fine artist : production pottery is more slog than creativity when your body is the machinery. Italian dinnerware designers were having more fun designing new "rustic" lines for their factories. But back to the matter in hand. Hales' press release notes that Slee's work recognizes these issues. It chall...

In art can lead the way to change in a broader sense. Thursday, October 1, 2009. This is one of a series of photographs taken by Sue Johnson. In the township of Khayelitsha, outside Cape Town in South Africa. I met Sue as she was teaching at a recent Creative Capital Professional Development Program Workshop. Following on from her work in Cape Town between 2004 -06, sales of Sue's photographs went on to fund a small not-for-profit photography group of township residents called Iliso Labantu. Growing up i...

David's Garden Place

Sunday, July 24, 2011. The mid summer garden in Florida is much like the mid winter garden of the north, not much at all going on, too hot for most veggies except cotton and sweet potatoes. Its a good time to pile up the compost and start planning for the upcoming fall growing season. This morning I was happily surprised by a blooming sweet potato vine. Sweet taters are part of the morning glory family and produce a similar flower. Thursday, June 30, 2011. Record Melon, Home Grown Cotton Balls. Our Reise...

Planes and stuff

;). Tamanhos (e pinturas) bem diferente :).
