Summer of Squeak: Smalltalk and FreeCAD/Croquet
http://blog.summer.squeak.org/2008/10/smalltalk-and-freecadcroquet.html
The collective blog for Squeak's Google Summer of Code 2008 projects. Saturday, October 4, 2008. Smalltalk is my favorite language for those things you said in your post. But I feel Croquet is less Smalltalkish for it being hard to debug when message sends are happening between islands. #futureSend:. Inspector and explorer interislandly seems hard. I respect you more for working on FreeCAD regardless of the difficulties of Croquet. October 10, 2008 at 4:38 PM. This comment has been removed by the author.

SqueakJS by Bert Freudenberg
http://bertfreudenberg.github.io/SqueakJS
A Squeak VM in JavaScript. SqueakJS executes Squeak in a web page without a plugin. It is a fully capable virtual machine implemented in pure JavaScript running unmodified Squeak images. Squeak is a modern implementation of Smalltalk, the original dynamic object-oriented programming environment. It runs bit-identically on virtually any platform, and now in the web browser, too. You can try SqueakJS right now: Mini Squeak. Is a very stripped-down but fast version, or the full-blown Etoys. This also requir...

Serializing large graphs with SIXX in GemStone | Mariano Martinez Peck

Sending messages through small talks. March 11, 2015. Serializing large graphs with SIXX in GemStone. While I promised to start a series of posts. About GemStone itself, today I wanted to write down some notes about something I’ve been doing in the last days. Serializing object graphs with SIXX. In my case I need to serialize/materialize conceptual databases. These are large enough so that SIXX will crash and run out of memory (the classical “VM temporary. Making SIXX temporal data persistent. Thanks Dal...

Nautilus: the reborn of the SystemBrowser? | Mariano Martinez Peck

Sending messages through small talks. February 26, 2012. Nautilus: the reborn of the SystemBrowser? I have always had a problem regarding Pharo: how to help/collaborate with its developement while still be as much productive as possible? The thing is that to help you usually need to work with the bleeding edge. To help, an easy way is to just use it and report/fix the problems you find while doing so. But I cannot use an image where I am not productive. So…how do I manage this? That will load Nautilus to...
