Qantas cancels 787 orders to cut costs. Qantas has just announced that it has cancelled an order for 35 Boeing 787 dreamliners in order to cut costs due to a net loss in the last year. In the last full-year Qantas has suffered a net loss of AU$244 million, compared to a profit of AU$250 million in the previous year. A Qantas A380 departed LA without having any target take off speeds programmed into the flight computer. The Captain only realised the error when they were all ready at 100kts rolling down the runway for take off. Apparently there were a few distractions during taxi which caused the captain to not fully complete the procedures before taking off. From your own site.
