small house renovation: Time Capsule.
http://smallhouserenovation.blogspot.com/2007/03/time-capsule.html
Friday, March 16, 2007. Forgot to note a very cool find-when Mark took out the old window over the kitchen sink, he found that the old-fashioned spring metal track had been "insulated" with newspaper from the time of the window's installation. Although the house is from the end of the 19th century, it was moved and renovated in 1948. Check out the photo of the newspaper especially the "television fiends.". small house renovation: June 2007
http://smallhouserenovation.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 24, 2007. Once Bill and Jess had to go to work painting the studio and bookshelves, it became much harder to keep up this blog-sorry! Jess' studio is almost put away; the books are back on the shelves but we thought it would be nice to see the shelves before they filled up. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). small house renovation: Screening in!
http://smallhouserenovation.blogspot.com/2007/05/screening-in.html
Wednesday, May 23, 2007. Screening up, and not a moment too soon. We are due for a warm spell that should bring out all the mosquitoes and black flies. Two weeks ago, we finished pickling the pressure treated wood that supports the porch. It looks wonderful; the color makes the beams blend into the landscape. The whole back yard had been unaccessible before the renovation. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jess' color classes in Middlebury and Burlington. French Island, Australia sustainable home.

small house renovation: The Not So Perfect House.
http://smallhouserenovation.blogspot.com/2007/08/not-so-perfect-house.html
Monday, August 6, 2007. The Not So Perfect House. After all the months of construction and painting, we took a break to just enjoy the new space: put Jess' studio back in; had friends over to admire the screened in porch; rearranged our furniture (and, in the process, got rid of as much as we could to keep the new space open and uncluttered). One of the blessings of not being perfectionists. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jess' color classes in Middlebury and Burlington. Planet Hardwood, St.Georg...

small house renovation: A tale of two sinks.
http://smallhouserenovation.blogspot.com/2007/04/tale-of-two-sinks.html
Thursday, April 5, 2007. A tale of two sinks. The toilet in the half bath was also replaced with an energy efficient model that barely uses any water to flush #1's and can be held down if more water is needed. Again, it did not meet with Barry's approval, as the inside mechanisms are plastic and more complex than older models. Barry has already told us to keep the series number of the toilet for the plumber who will have to fix it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Architectural and Materials Links.
