Israel Fix: December 2008
http://israelfix.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Thoughts on Yesterday's Levaya. The yeshiva went to Kfar Chabad yesterday to take part of the Holtzberg levaya (funeral). I don't think that I am capable of expressing the pain that the entire Jewish world felt at the loss of these two incredible people. What I can tell over is something unique that I experienced to put even more perspective on the incredible Jewish unity we have in this country. We asked him how he knew what was being spoken about at the levaya. If there wer...

Israel Fix: The Real Escape from Slavery
http://israelfix.blogspot.com/2009/02/real-escape-from-slavery.html
Thursday, February 5, 2009. The Real Escape from Slavery. 8220;It happened that when Pharaoh sent out the nation.Hashem didn't lead them near the Land of the Pilishtim because it was near. Hashem said that when they see a war they will want to return to Egypt.”(Exodus 13:17). Rashi asks what was the reason that Hashem didn't want to lead the Benai Yisrael near the land of the Pilishtim? And what does it mean “it was near? 8221; What was it near? And what was the significance of mentioning that? And that'...

Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Miscommunications, Stupid Government Laws, and I should hopefully be posting more often soon. All right basically I haven't been posting because I haven't had easy access to the internet. But not to worry Bezek is coming on Thursday to the yeshiva to install our internet so starting next week I should start posting regularly again. So I'll fill in two interesting Aliyah related stories that have happened to me in the previous week's. So yeshiva started and they needed my health...

Thursday, January 8, 2009. The Tax Form has Arrived! And it's all in Hebrew. Well, I returned for Yerushalayim today to an email informing me that my tax form is in my box, waiting to be filled out and returned to the office. I open up the envelope, and discover that the entire form (all 3 pages) are "Rak BeIvrit.". So what do I do? Utilize mostly from the Hebrew I learned in in Ulpan which helped me fill out about 70% of the form (I knew that darn thing was good for something! Trying to Fix the World.

Israel Fix: July 2010
http://israelfix.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Tisha B'Av 5770-Why are we still in Exile? There's been something I've been wanting to get off my chest for a while, and I thought that today would be an appropriate day to do so. One of the biggest highlights in my life over the past few week's was welcoming our friends the Adler's. To Israel, finally making Aliyah. I couldn't put my finger on it until today. The response was to look at the 25th Kinnah. The 25th Kinnah is about the destruction of the communities of the Rhineland-...

Israel Fix: "Good Deal's" and Tishah B'Av
http://israelfix.blogspot.com/2008/08/good-deals-and-tishah-bav.html
Monday, August 11, 2008. Good Deal's" and Tishah B'Av. Before I start with this post, I just got an email inviting me to (I believe the first) Nefesh B’ Nefesh International Jewish Bloggers Convention. That should be fun, next Wednesday at the NBN offices in Jerusalem. So on Thursday I made my first (and probably last) big purchase for quite a while, the bike. It turned out the bike held up very well, but now that I was in Israel it was time to get a new bike. I ended up finding a bike in a small shop on...

Trying to Fix the World: Pizza, Government Offices, and Cell Phones
http://howtofixtheworld1.blogspot.com/2008/07/pizza-government-offices-and-cell.html
Trying to Fix the World. The rantings of an Israel-Bound Orthodox Jew, analyzing issues in the Jewish and international world, in a controversial and very UNorthodox way. Oh, and there might be a little bit about Israel and Aliyah as well. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Pizza, Government Offices, and Cell Phones. A lot has happened in the past few days. The last time I posted I had gotten my name changed at Misrad Hapanim to the RIGHT name and had opened my bank account. Alright, so yesterday I went to Yerush...
