Falling indelibly into the past. Planned Obsolescence is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Pulled Pork, The Remix. We are finally, finally, in the thick of spring — the sun is out, at least some of the time, and the windows are open, at least part of the day. And the ability to stand being outside for more than ten minutes at a time has me pondering the things that sustained me through this miserable winter. In a word: Pork, and lots of it. 1/2 cup chicken stock.
Attention – Planned Obsolescence

Falling indelibly into the past. Planned Obsolescence is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Yesterday was a lovely, quiet Saturday. I got up early, went through my morning routine, and then went for a walk in the park. I did laundry, I had lunch, I took a little nap. I spent part of the day with the book I’m currently reading (Judith Halberstam’s. The Queer Art of Failure. This seems obvious, and yet what’s painful about it is all bound up in what Tim Parks. For what...

My Hiding Place: The Tensions of Teacher Prep - the money version
http://museyme.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-tensions-of-teacher-prep-money.html
Monday, August 5, 2013. The Tensions of Teacher Prep - the money version. My sense is that state governments are interested in pouring money into private ventures (TFA, charters, online programs) rather than invest in teacher education programs at the state universities. Which is crazy because anyone who wants to be certified usually ends up going through a state school program (since they usually have a more expansive program). Any way to fundraise for these kinds of programs? August 6, 2013 at 6:11 AM.

College Ready Writing: Rhetoric, Critical Thinking, and The Bible
https://collegereadywriting.blogspot.com/2011/05/rhetoric-critical-thinking-and-bible.html
A blog about education, higher ed, teaching, and starting my own education business. Monday, May 16, 2011. Rhetoric, Critical Thinking, and The Bible. In one of my classes, the students are required to write a pursuasive essay. In our class, I decided to have the students read and write about "the future." As I have written here previously, we read the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451. And how am I to know, one way or the other, what the student believes? It certainly, for me, isn`t my place to judge a stu...

Also wrote about his response to the film. Newbie. My experience with it comes mostly from this:. I was supposed to be all:. 8221; But in ...

Laquo; Summer’s End Roundtable, Part IV. Raquo; Infinite Index. Back in April, when I set out to recruit three more Guides, I decided to start with the folks I thought would be best suited for the role and then move down the list as I accumulated rejections (of which I expected plenty). Instead, to my great fortune, the first three people I asked accepted. I’m a little unclear on how that happened, but I could not be more appreciative. Eden M. Kennedy’s. March 19, 2009. The Figure of the Book. 8212; gselmer @ 16:15. Anyway, this post is framed by – even partly pro-grammed by – the interesting conversations that have been going on in both the mainstream media and ‘social’ media (in particular Twitter) about the future (or lack of future) for the book in the digital age. This is not a new conversation, by any means – the first section of Derrida’s Of Grammatology. 1 Jason Weaver’s (Paperback Jack) post: ‘Things falling apart’. 3 Sven Birkett’s article.

Charting my forays into the world of Digital Humanities and my never ceasing love for English literature, simultaneously. Wednesday, 19 December 2012. What The Water Gave Me': Woolf and Water. DH challenges the traditional written identity i. N the same way that Woolf uses water to mock the traditional novel format.
