Life After Peak Oil. Ideas, news and just rants on how to address problems due to energy depletion and climate change. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Less expensive and more reliable. Paid for software is sometimes very good. Other times not so much. In fact, when it comes to licensing failures many commercial software packages have abysmal records of reliability. Yet, in spite of the software being crippled (or on the verge of being crippled) license failure isn't usually counted as a fail. How about the mu...

BugE - More than a bike, less than a car. Exploring post Peak Oil transport, where oil will someday be too expensive to burn. Sunday, September 11, 2011. Unusual problems found with "normal" use patterns. Here's what I've found so far as the BugE is used for it's intended use - a pure electric commuter vehicle that operates in cool rainy conditions while keeping the occupant free of windchill and rain. Instead, bottom balance your pack and slightly undercharge the cells. 3.6v or 3.65v per cel...I also su...

http://lifeafterpeakoil.blogspot.com/2013/06/dont-cash-in-those-bottle-deposits-yet.html
Life After Peak Oil. Ideas, news and just rants on how to address problems due to energy depletion and climate change. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Could this be a new trend? Of course, I forgo the bottle deposit if I cut the bottles this way. However, I get the following advantages:. Plastic bottles are widely available and cheap. They seem to keep the plants frost-free (especially if the ground is warm and I put the cap on the top of the bottles). So far, I don't seem to need any pesticides! Post-season note...

Exploring transport options in a world where oil will someday be too expensive to burn. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. After my last winter trip, I noticed the bike had quite a bit of salty dirt from it's travels through the snow and slush. Life After Peak Oil. Ideas, news and just rants on how to address problems due to energy depletion and climate change. Saturday, February 16, 2013. That is, until I signed up for health insurance. The good news was that I got it. However, the bad news was that it was a budget buster. In spite of making roughly 1/3 more per hour from last year, my budget would not balance! So, I decided to look at why. It was really simple. My healthcare premiums exceed what I would pay for a nice. Other blogs I maintain.
