Lisa's Littlest Learners: May 2014
http://lisaslittlestlearners.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
BRAIN FACT: Learn Through Play. Saturday, May 17, 2014. I used my favorite sense (taste) and chose to do an ice cream store. I have play ice cream cones, popsicles, and Dilly bars, plus recycled ice cream cartons and cone boxes. The ice cream cartons are filled with styrofoam balls, plus there are bowls, spoons, and fruits for toppings. I set it up with the cash register and a table for customers, and they were set. They loved it and it was busy for all 2 weeks. I found fun dot paint markers on clearance...

Lisa's Littlest Learners: Butterflies!
http://lisaslittlestlearners.blogspot.com/2014/05/butterflies.html
BRAIN FACT: Learn Through Play. Monday, May 5, 2014. This morning, we checked on the chrysalides again and nothing! It was day 11 for the first one (they hatch between 7-10 days). So I emailed Insect Lore to ask about a refill since their guarantee promises 3 to hatch. Then, a few hours later, McKynlee went to check on them before we ran some errands and we had 2 butterflies! I snapped these pics on my phone real quick. I'll let them feed them oranges tomorrow and I hope we get some more flying! A new bu...

Lisa's Littlest Learners: My preschool philosophy
http://lisaslittlestlearners.blogspot.com/p/my-preschool-philosophy.html
BRAIN FACT: Learn Through Play. Truthfully, putting my teaching philosophy into words is so difficult for me. I know in my head what I've learned and what I believe and I practice it in my teaching, but find it so hard to articulate just how I really feel. I will try my best to do so here. I student taught 5th grade and Kindergarten and sure fell in love with those Kindergarteners! I had heard horror stories about how difficult it was to teach in the lab and I found all of them to be FALSE! I loved my se...

Latenight reflections on baking, cooking and eating with my family. Macaroons: Chocolate Chip or Lime. Macaroons are a cinch to make. By macaroon I mean the American macaroon, which is typically a mixture of egg whites and shredded coconut shaped into balls and baked. The French version, though delicious, is a little more complicated with meringue and piping and cream fillings involved. At home, I whipped up a more grown-up version of the macaroon a lime flavored one. Perfect for those who don’...3 Bake ...

Lisa's Littlest Learners: December 2013
http://lisaslittlestlearners.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
BRAIN FACT: Learn Through Play. Saturday, December 21, 2013. As I always say, we had a great time these last 2 weeks! How can you not have fun, celebrating the holidays? We made snowflakes for our class tree. I had the paper cut into squares and folded, and they only had to cut it. I knew it'd be hard, but they did a great job! I was impressed. They all cut off the corners because that was the easiest, some cut out a few more shapes, and they mostly cut slits. I only had to help a little. The...A true pr...

Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Let's be honest, for some, this is a VERY scary thought! Cooking with that MANY children? That has the potential to be a tsunami-scale. Stay with me for a second here and let's look at this from a positive perspective. Allows children to use all FIVE of their senses;. Provides nutritional value to the children;. Provides growth in the physical, social/emotional, language and cognitive developmental domains;. Begins to teach them life skills;. Cooking is linked to our curriculum:.

Als Antwort kam: Dear Klaus, You are most welcome to come to Monday morning 10am class.
