These are memorable trips short and long by various modes of transportation, true to the best of my recollection. Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Don't let me ever again be the annoying f* * in an outfitter store. I would hope I had paid my karmic debt by now, but as long as one stays in the outfitter business one sits in the cross-hairs of know-it-alls and half-informed customers who want to make sure you're doing everything absolutely right when they have no real idea what that is. The Back of Class.

These are memorable trips short and long by various modes of transportation, true to the best of my recollection. Monday, June 12, 2006. Morning on the River. Pine River is bank-full and cold after all the rain we've had. I was down there this morning to test the water for the Green Mountain Conservation Group. It was strange to see the sun. The water is dark brown, but not really silty. The samples I tested for turbidity produced lower numbers than I think I've ever seen. Links to this post.

Photos by Laurie Meeder. The team entered the river downstream from a beaver dam on Long Point in the Lost Valley development and worked up against the current. Fish and Game personnel operated three battery-powered units and directed the netting. Naturally I netted the primo crustacean for the day. Anyone surprised? I was prett...

These are memorable trips short and long by various modes of transportation, true to the best of my recollection. Friday, October 19, 2012. I hate hunting season. I have many friends who hunt. While I don't share their enthusiasm for it, the activity itself isn't what bothers me. I just hate having to make myself visible in the woods. Thanks for posting,. Ill try to keep up the quality. I have become like the many who spend their time shut up inside, staring into the infinite window of a computer screen because the view out the real window has so little to offer. Links to this post. Football — Touring the USA. Farm to Table in Austin, TX. Posts Tagged ‘Vegetable Gardening’. Spaghetti Squash with Tomatillo Sauce. On July 1, 2015 2 Comments. Especially during the summer, I let the garden inspire me on what’s for dinner. Tonight’s combination was spaghetti squash, tomatillos, jalapeños, onion, and tomatoes. I started by cutting the squash in half, and placed it upside down in about 1/2 in of water. I cooked it at 350 for about 40 minutes. I could open a food truck with those. I was in ...

Whatever seems important at the time. Wednesday, December 17, 2014. This formation on a rotting piece of beech tree reminded me of my little wildcat Pandora, who died in 2001. She ruled these woods. How much was luck and how much was skill? She never lost a fight, except to her final illness. She spent days and nights in the forest with coyotes, foxes, fishers, bobcats, bears, owls, hawks and roving dogs. She seemed like a superhero. I heard some hair raising noises some nights, but there she...It was ab...

Whatever seems important at the time. Sunday, March 30, 2014. Having chimed in on a few national political issues over the years, I am constantly deluged with requests for funds to support political candidates and advocacy organizations that represent the interests of the less corporately connected elements of society. Or some other sinister interest might have a fish hook in the bait. The one time I did make a contribution to a political candidate I discovered my credit card had been compromised....

Terça-feira, 29 de junho de 2010. No time to lose. Life is today; no tomorrow is promised, no future guaranteed and yesterday was long gone to live on its memories. The tic-tacs keep pounding on the old life wasting clock and they stare to the nothing we live for. Precious minutes fade away which everybody sees but nobody enjoys… people keep wasting life… the clock gets older, dusty and dull. Quarta-feira, 12 de maio de 2010. Sick and tired of saying goodbye. These are memorable trips short and long by various modes of transportation, true to the best of my recollection. Tuesday, November 03, 2015. Early November sometimes brings unusually mild temperatures. On a break from yard work, I went for a short walk into the woods. Lush growth of moss on this stump. My nearest neighbor is always quiet. Blue sky and sunshine. This one is worth making bigger. November's backhanded slap of sunshine is still welcome. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
