http://playingwithmycamera.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Sunday, May 31, 2015. On one of my evening walks last week I took my camera along and got some photos of the blooming trees along the road. The photos of the dahlias are at a friends house nearby. I stopped in as she was watering them and we had a nice visit in the yard. Isn't this pink gorgeous? The apple blossoms are spectacular this year. These are wild trees. A bridal spirea in full bloom at a neighbour's. Tomorrow I'm going to be ...

The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Monday, September 29, 2014. Our second summer or Indian summer has been gorgeous. On Saturday morning I went for a little walk up and down the road near our house.about 2 city block lengths.to see the fall colours. I couldn't believe how much the trees have turned in the past few days. The tip off was one of the sugar maples in our yard which seemed to turn in the last 2 days. (photo below). Summer haze in the air. Speaking of caterpil...

http://playingwithmycamera.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Geese on the river and a surprise sighting. On Wednesday I went to a friend's house along the river to see if we could see any geese or other returning birds. It was cold and windy (wearing sweatshirt, down vest, windbreaker and gloves! Along the riverbank but we were rewarded with seeing flocks of Canada geese. It was a Bald Eagle! I was pretty excited to find this in my photos. Such a dull grey and cold day.

http://playingwithmycamera.blogspot.com/2015/08/theres-difference-in-air.html
The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. There's a difference in the air. You've noticed too, haven't you? The difference in the air in August. Have you noticed how the light has changed too.how the sun is slinking a bit lower in the sky.how it rises a bit later and sets a bit earlier? The sunset on Friday evening was spectacular. I took this with my cell phone as we were driving along the highway. Threatening skies and river reflections. Rumford, Ma...

The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. This car climbed Mt. Washington. Along the highway in Ontario. Ontario traffic on a holiday weekend. We just aren't used to this and decided to avoid it and head out. What did you think? I guess the fog on the way up helped mask the views. Enjoy the photos. Mt Washington Auto Road. Is in it's 154th season as America's first and oldest man-made attraction. This is Murray helping me up the stairs from the parki...

Old Canvas Beach Tote. Help for the wannabe artist. What do you need for art? Dress, Patrice’s drawing challenge. October 24, 2014. I was so glad to be able to be a part of Patrice’s drawing challenge. So we tend to buy a lot of second hand, ethically sewn, and organically produced clothes. This time around, I decided to see if I could do some eco printing on some clothes, and see what the results would be. I soaked the clothes over night in a vinegar water solution, and we started to layer the leaves.

Monday, April 20, 2015. We can't believe our luck here in northern Alberta. Monday, May 11, 2015. Memories on Mother's Day. Yesterday my memories were circling back in time. Motherhood has been such a wonderful gift to me. Our children are grown but so much a part of our lives. We are lucky to live close by. I was also thinking back to 50 years ago when I graduated from high school. I'm looking forward ...

A Safe Haven for Mental Masturbation
A Safe Haven for Mental Masturbation. Thursday, January 17, 2008. Last semester I took a course on ethics in computing. It only met for 50 minutes a week and I rarely attended class but the assigned readings made me do a lot of thinking. All the talk about robots taking over the world and engineering new ways for us all to kill ourselves really made me wonder what it is that governs how our society will react to new technologies and what the possible outcomes could be. Time for class, more on this later.

The love of photography, decorating, vintage treasures and gardening. Saturday, April 7, 2018. I thought I'd better post to let you know I'm still alive but very inactive on my blog. But, we know our spring weather is always delayed by weeks here so we remain hopeful. Do I look cold to you? A foggy view of the St. John River valley on March 30.
