Tuesday, November 24, 2009. I applied to become an EWB (Engineers Without Borders) Junior Fellowship, to go and volunteer overseas in an African community for 3 months this coming summer. I did an hour interview with them 2 weeks ago. And tomorrow I find out if they've accepted me or not. NERVOUS! Sunday, November 22, 2009. I should be completing one of the many things on my list to do:. WebAssign Online Math Assigment. Studying for the Geography Lab. Finding a Spanish Piano Piece.

Sunday, October 18, 2009. Birthday Math and the Symphony. Me and the family went to. For some "authentic" Japanese cooking.from Chinese chefs. The little boy in the red was sooo cute. 家族と「侍」日本料理レストランを食べに行った。中国人シェフがご飯を作ってくれたけど。。。 Supposedly they usually light the onion on fire, but we were treated to a steamy spectacle instead! The family and the birthday cake. Everyone was wearing pajamas, so we only took a photo of our heads. The concert was yesterday and SOO good. Thursday, October 8, 2009.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Potluck: a gathering where all who attend bring one dish to share with everyone else. Maia and Cassie (the Stark twins) have an awesome mom. She came up with the idea that "Hey, we should have people over. On a regular basis. Let's have a weekly potluck at our house every Sunday! 双子友達マイアとキャーセィのお母さんは賢い!彼女が「毎週人々が私達の家に来たらいいな」と考えて「じゃ毎日曜日ポットラックしよう!」のアイディアが生まれた! This past Sunday was the very first one. I decided to make homemade udon! Pretty healthy tasting anyhow.

Marika in Malawi: Climb every mountain...gulp.
http://marikainmalawi.blogspot.com/2007/07/climb-every-mountaingulp.html
Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Climb every mountain.gulp. We had planned to set off early in the morning, but he was delayed because one of the tenants had stolen some things and run off. He was upset because this particular tenant had been a close friend, and he felt much betrayed by this, understandably so. So the minibus dropped us at the end of a dirt road with a sign posted: Livingstonia 15km. Before you actually get to Livingstonia there’s this amazing waterfall set back in the forest that drops ove...

Ghanaian Al-Hassan: May 2006
http://ghanaiankyle.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Kyle Baptista's 2006 JFID in Ghana. In Damongo, rains have threatened us for a few days. Large, perilous storms which seem certain to hit veer away from us at the last minute. There is a system to these storms that anyone can use to detect their occurrence minutes before they start (besides from looking at the clouds, of course):. Posted by Kyle at 06:05. We borrowed a truck from the MoFA office and transported my mattress from the Shangrila to my new home. We were greeted by all of the neighbors as ...

Ghanaian Al-Hassan: June 2006
http://ghanaiankyle.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Kyle Baptista's 2006 JFID in Ghana. Ghanaians can hardly believe what they have witnessed; Ghana is ranked #48 in the world against the #2 Czechs. After the first goal, almost everyone in town crowds around the few stores which have televisions. Ghana's national broadcaster, GTV, can be picked up by any antennae, making it very easy to receive the signals live from Germany. I hope you will join me in cheering on Ghana in the FIFA World Cup for the remainder of the tournament. Posted by Kyle at 10:11.

Kyle Baptista's 2006 JFID in Ghana. Well I have arrived at the EWB training house. 12 Treford Street in Toronto is a cozy three bedroom duplex with three floors of bedding for the dozens of overseas volunteers who will sleep under this roof over the next several weeks. I am on a stopover on my way to Pickering for the weekend, but I will return Sunday morning to the training house for six days of intense workshops and sessions to prepare myself for the May 7th departure to Tamale. Unfortunately I do not ...

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Mamak Night in Da Houuuuse! Faire mes devoirs. Faire mes devoirs. . No matter what language I say it in, it's not going to end just yet. Homework. Homework. Homework. But no complaints, I am so lucky to be able to go to school freely, study what I want and pursue my dreams. I just wish this translated into a better work ethic. I need to be more proactive. Devoir 2 pour le francais. Due mercredi. Mostly done. Chamber concert at night, I'm really excited! Yu choy, fried eggs, cu...
