Zar is a fast paced card game of strategy and luck. For 2 to 9 players. Ages 6 to adult. Match the symbol or color when it's your turn, but if you can match both the symbol and color you don't have to wait your turn! The player who gets matched has to draw a card. Sting your opponents with a Wasp, skip 'em with a Frog, and reverse the direction with a Crab. Take control by changing the symbol with a Dragon or change the color with a Peacock. A Zar deck consists of 64 cards, Rule sheet & a box to keep it in.

The object of the game. Is to be the first to get rid of your cards and make other players draw more cards. When it's your turn. Play the same color or symbol as the last card played. You've probably played one of Zar's ancestors. Zar evolved from folk games like Crazy Eights. Slam Your Neighbor, Taki (Israel), Mau Mau (Germany) and others. Many Zar players recognize its roots in games they've played since they were young. Over time the rules have evolved to make the game move faster and have more twists. Zar is a good balance of luck and strategy. It certainly isn't deep like chess, but you do have more fun and win more hands when you think through your choices.
