Skiing With Sven: November 2012
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 26, 2012. The early season hero's of an eastern ski season are the members of the snowmaking team at your local ski hill. This year is no different, as we've seen little, if any, natural snow. However a number of areas are open and offering up fantastic skiing. So on this morning I raise my coffee mug to the snowmakers of the world- keep doing what you do, and know we collectively say THANK YOU! Tuesday, November 20, 2012. The season is underway. Skiing With Sven: February 2013
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 5, 2013. It can be tough to stay stoked during the ski season when it looks like you might need to go out and mow your lawn in early February, but the reality is the resort skiing is still really good. Ok- so that was my pep talk for myself and now it's time to go take a few runs. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow Skiing with Sven on Facebook. Skiing With Sven Links. Skiing With Sven: Congrats Dad!
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2013/01/congrats-dad.html
Thursday, January 31, 2013. I just wanted to publicly congratulate my Dad for being named to the Maine Ski Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2013. He's been a ski hero of mine for my entire life, but he's also my father so I'm sure some of my views on him are skewed a bit due to my vantage point. To see others recognize him for what he's given to the sport is pretty cool. Now let's see if we can get some snow to fall! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow Skiing with Sven on Facebook.

Skiing With Sven: February 2014
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 26, 2014. I've always wanted to do a road gap, ever since seeing a skier jump a train in some 1980's Warren Miller movie. I've never done it, never even been to a road gap jump before. Now I use the excuse that I'm too old. Then I saw this, doesn't change that I may be too old, but certainly puts a smile on my face as it's local and pretty cool. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow Skiing with Sven on Facebook. Skiing With Sven: Snowmaking
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2015/08/snowmaking.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I know that our resorts here in the east are now only three months or so away from testing snowmaking. I know there is a 50/50 chance that I'll ski before the end of October- and that is exciting. But I know there is a 100% chance I'll be skiing by December. But running the Winter Olympics in a place that only has 2" of snowfall per winter? That's stretching what we should expect from snowmaking. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Skiing With Sven: January 2012
http://skiingwithsven.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 19, 2012. I can't think of many better ways to start the day than to skin up a mountain, watch the sunrise, and then ski down. Today was no exception, except for the fact that it was COLD. That being said, it's winter and it's supposed to be cold! The key to cold weather is to use common sense. Cover up exposed skin. Wear layers so you can regulate your temperature. WEAR A HAT! I also always pack an extra hat and gloves as those tend to get wet with sweat when touring.
