Lunatic Fringe: December 2008
http://walkinglunaticfringe.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Pad Thai, Green Curry and Lemon Grass Tea. Five years ago I finally relaxed and felt like things would be OK. After a very hectic, emotional, and unbelievably stressful twenty-one days, we finally felt like our son DJ was "over the hump". With encouragement from the nurses in the NICU, my husband and I decided to escape the grips of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and go for a nice New Year's Eve dinner. We would like to wish everyone a very happy, prosperous, exc...

XUP: Forest of the Damned
http://urbanpedestrian.blogspot.com/2008/06/forest-of-damned.html
Sunday, June 1, 2008. Forest of the Damned. Did ya’ll see this news item on the weekend? New photos of a tribe of people living deep in the Brazilian rainforests near the border of Peru. Apparently, the country’s National Indian Foundation has known about this tribe, and three others like them, for over 20 years and is releasing photos now to bring attention to the fact that their existence is being threatened as the deforestation of the rainforest accelerates. Of course, the experts. One would assume th...

No, it’s not the name of a new movie, but it’s something even better for all you city people out there. New Yorkers, pay special attention, as this will help you greatly. Tired of pigeons on your balcony, and have you tried just about anything? Pretty funny actually. I think this might even work for starlings, and other nuisance birds. Posted in meow meow. XUP: A Word About Eggs
http://urbanpedestrian.blogspot.com/2008/06/word-about-eggs.html
Monday, June 2, 2008. A Word About Eggs. You don't hear too much about eggs - the occasional. Ad, maybe. Eggs got a bad rap back in the anti-cholesterol days and they never quite recovered, even though they proved themselves to be artery-friendly. Eggs just keep a low profile now. They're seen as kind of comical. I don't know why. Maybe because the way they're shaped or because it's so easy to draw funny faces on them. My enjoyment of eggs grew in proportion to the time elapsed since I tended chickens.

http://mongoadventurer.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Just in case I don't get around to it. 2008, it's been a slice. Thanks for the memories. Both the bad, and the good. And happy birthday big boy! Monday, December 29, 2008. Ah, it's good to be back. To routine that is. It's nice to have all the children home. I prefer when we are not all house bound as a result of freezing rain. We had/have a few extra special visitors. We collected the school principal's bird for the duration of Christmas break, and a friends dog as she co...

So, Saturday was my first 5K, and it was kind of neat. I mean, I ran most of the course with only one walk break, and I managed to finish at 29:45.6! Not a bad time for a newbie, eh! If I had been at the front of the pack at the start, it might have been a little bit better. There were just too many people to pass! Anyways, we didn’t need a G...
