Pleasures of a Prairie Girl. Thursday, June 28, 2012. Well, here I am. Minutes before a new age and year. I must say I'm impressed with my frequent blog post, I made it for a whole month! My 21st year has been eventful, awesome and unrepeatable. I am grateful for this past year and am feeling hopeful and inspired for the coming one. Here is my last thing that I love/am grateful for/and will forever by inspired by.my prairies. It shapes us from childhood through. Sun and through rain. 2 days left to be 21.

Pleasures of a Prairie Girl. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. I have said many times about how much I love making baby quilts and the same could be said for knitting baby clothes. I chose to do both for the newest baby in my life and I am so happy about how they turned out. The sweater is SO teeny, it's made for just the first 6 weeks of a baby's life and this baby is a preemie so it will probably fit for longer! I can't wait to deliver this little gifts to Baby Gus! Pleasures of a Prairie Girl. Saturday, November 17, 2012. I spent the day today at my Grandma Janzen's baking traditional Mennonite peppermint cookies with two of my cousins. I have baked with my Grandma before but never with my cousins and never on such a large scale, think upward of 200 cookies. I left with my heart feeling warm and cozy, I am very conscious of time I spend with my Grandparents and this day definitely made the top five list of good memories. Hope you're all having a great weekend!

I choose to debone the chicken leg and stuff it with a tomato almond mixture. The livers I cooked with mushrooms, shallots and garlic. The lamb was kept simple with just S and P. They turned out pretty darn good. I simply mixed together ricotta cheese, bread crumbs, fresh grated parm cheese and some herbs from my garden. A look at my life and the food in it. Monday, October 11, 2010. For Thanksgiving dinner dessert I made Black Forest Cake. I have to say I am pretty proud of this beauty. It turned out perfect. Moist. Chocolatey. The cherry flavor not too overpowering. I decided to forgo the cherry brandy as I knew the kids would want some. I definately will be making this one again! Well worth the effort. I followed the recipe except I added a layer of chocolate chips to the bottom before putting the nuts and filling in.
